Hey Guys
Good toon. A bit long maybe, but not bad. Oh wait. What's up with my Media Player? Says time is 6:12, but the song is more like 3:50 w/ 3 seconds of silence before intro. Now that's more inline timewise. Might want to crop out a bunch of dead air.
I like the snare sound. Different but gots lotsa body. Sounds like the top head is real loose & bottom is tight. Backwards from the norm maybe but interesting. A touch of 'verb would prolly help settle it into the mix. Agree w/ Dave that snare could come down during quieter passages. But seems alright in the choruses / pre-choruses.
Pilfa - the guitars in the break right before the solo. They need to be synched up a whole bunch. Seems like both of them are rushing but at different times from each other. I'd think a little ritard would work better here anyway. Regardless they need to be together. And the cymbals between the two phrass there just might be a little too busy. Less is more, yada yada. Oh, and there's some kind of "click" in the first phrase. Might be a gt artifact or even an intended percussion hit, dunno. Just seems out of place to me.
Stu, just a thought here. You have a great tonal quality for this sort of thing, real breathy. Thinking that towards the end, last refrain?, try for a harder edge on the vocal. Just don't try too hard

or it could sound forced. Expand your horizons!
Now both of ya. Pitch. The guitars in the Intro are out of tune. The lead at least sounds like it's not in tune with itself and the rhythm is off from the lead. Nice parts, just tune 'em up! I know, easier said than done. I got this 12 string that'll go on a jag once in a while and wreak all sorts of havoc ;) Other times it settles in and hangs there. Sometimes I don't even realize untill it's too late. Crap#%$, gotta retrack. Stu - this might be your best vocal track yet. Still there's a couple spots where you you fall flat. Typically the chorus, "and stand By ME". The "by" and held out "Me". Think this is what onevision is getting at. Would be beautiful if it was IN TUNE. Realize the "Me" is at or near the top of your range and you're jumping a fifth. We've talked about this in the past and as I indicated above, yer gettin' better. You know what to do. Long tones switching between notes of the interval checking your chromatic tuner. A little time spent and everyone, including yourself, will notice the difference. BTW, you hit it right on at the end of the Bridge/ Pre-Chorus (whatever) " I got everything I was hoping FOR" so I know you can do it.
So fix up all that stuff and y'all got a kickin' track. IMHO. Good start and I'm looking forward to the remix.
