Zun's right, I'm afraid there's not really a way any of us can seriously answer unless we have the manual in our hands. We're in the same boat as you are.

I'm all for having a complete manual for v.2; it's been long overdue. I prefer a paper manual, as I use it mainly for reference purposes down the road, although that's conflicts with some of my other long-held beliefs. But I'd settle for a .pdf, as long as it had a lot more depth, and was free of the contradictions, omissions, and errors in the old manual/online Help file [which are really both halves (thirds <g>) of the manual]. And how about dropping some Easter Eggs in there for the dedicated readers?

But it just occured to me that the slim manual-ito has had some unintended but positive side-effects on us. We were forced into slogging our way through the quicksand, and turning to this forum to find out some answers. That collective struggle forced some close-knit bonds, and produced some amazing workarounds. I'm not sure that the same things would've happened, had we the usual choice of options spelled out there in front of us.

And that baptism-by-fire has made us all more tolerant and aware of the trials and tribulations of new users. I can't recall one instance of a 'new-bie' question at this forum being replied to with a curt "RTFM" ... ever.

I am a manual guy myself. I hope Project 5 v2 is a little more ... well, a little more would actually be a lot more.

But damn, I'm excited. I don't care if I have to go without beer for a week. I'm getting that upgrade.

Agreed B-rock! It's just that my problem is I forget!!!
I sometimes get caught up in the creative throes of music making and then suddenly....Whack!!! "...what was that work around??? hmmm....i know i knew how to do this a while back...is it on page 22 of the slim manual-ito (digs around bottom of bird cage..) Dammitall!!! what was that Enlightened Mixogrungo chord change slash volcanic swing drum slash multi-tapped ascending eskimo scale riffette i was gonna put here in measure 52??? Fire up the forum-mobile Robin, 'cause commisioner gordo needs this Bat-riff by friday..."

I guess the issue for me is workflow.
    (nervously ascends soapbox...)
My friends, Project 5 is not a Toy!!! It is a Weapon!!! A Weapon against boredom, fear, hate, anger, frustration and ignorance in music!!! And I want to be Well equipped in the battle!!! I want to know how to load, dismantle, reassemble, and fire with extreme accuracy and predjudice!!!(descends from soap-box, spent, sweaty, gnashing teeth, pulling out hair...)

But I'd settle for a .pdf, as long as it had a lot more depth, and was free of the contradictions, omissions, and errors in the old manual/online Help file [which are really both halves (thirds <g>) of the manual].

You're right but i have to ask...Why Settle!?!?!
    I hate .pdf files.

I prefer a nice juicy manual. I read Sonar 1's manual so many times that when Sonar 2 came out I only had a little catching up to do. This also went for the subsequent upgrades.

    have a good one

Maybe they will print the manual on a T-Shirt? Then you could just look down at your chest and get the answer to your question. Of course the type would have to be small to get it all on there...........

I am new to P5 so the sparse manual leaves me out in the netherlands.........I don't even know what P5 is capable of so can't even ask questions.......I sure hope the manual that comes with my upgrade is better.

Now that's just good comedy, Dana. I'll add that, in contrast, you can crib the major points offered in the current manual on your P5 pocket protector. As for Dolly's shirt, I'm afraid that my concentration on the pertinent text would be lost.
