I can't select "Export Audio" from file menu.

I have been trying for a long time to export to WAV. files but "Export Audio" from the file menu is gray (you can't click on it). Why?!

Generally the most obvious reason is that you are trying to export a midi file, and or a mix of midi and audio files that have not been converted to audio files. You can only export audio files, the good new is that it is easy to converts, realatively that is.

You SHOULD see the import - audio tab and be able to select it. - On that you are correct.

If you try to export a MIDI file the program will choke and say "No audio to mix down."

Are you able to hear anything or is it just that the audio button grayed out?

It sounds like your sound card isn't installed correctly or at least not fully installed.

    Look here first:
Options - Audio - General Tab. Check that there is a Record Wav Device listed. If not choose one.
If you are not allowed to choose then RUN the WAVE Profiler again - Options- Audio - General Tab - Wave Profiler. My guess is that you do not have a recording device that Music Creator can see as yet.

to export a midi track it must be bounced to an audio track, open an audio track, set the fx box to edirol VSC, then change the output of the midi track to Edirol VSC, then go to file/bounce to track(s) it will make you an audio track of the midi

I stand corrected - if you only have a midi loaded with no audio tracks - your export audio will be gray. When you have both or just audio is does light up.

I just got to remember to test all options.

If you have a midi capable sound card there is another way to convert midi to audio
    Try this tutorial.

Yeah, I know, it says SONAR, but basically it works the same in MC.

Robomusic. You're great! (you all are) Thank you! I am going to put your directions on file so I can review if I need to.

So, why wasn't that in the help file? I wonder.
