Warning!

i ken this doesnt have anything to do with HS. But i just felt the need to tell everyone about this obvious scam going about. or at least i think its a scam....

i got an email today from one Miss Bintou Shaban Samir. telling me about her father now dead. and mostly telling me about his money problems, well her problems with his money. turns out that he died with over five million in an Islamic bank in west Africa.

The jest of this is, she wants me to claim next of kin. and have the money transfered to an account in my name.... she will give me thirty percent.

Wow i thought, thats alot of money.... until i was reminded of a good friend of mine saying he has received three seperate emails about the same kind of deal... some rich guy died and they need help getting the money.

i would like to report this to the proper government officials, so if any of you fellows knows where i can do that please let me know.

till then. later days........ Aaron/

This has been a common email scam for at least 10 years. There are many variations.

I've already spent my inheritance and waiting to hear from my next of kin in Nigeria.

I'm thinking I should actually move to Africa to be there for them.....and save them all these unnecessary hoops we have to jump through to get some chump change.

I once went out for dinner with a girl and the subject got onto email scammers. I said "who would be so utterly stupid as to fall for that crap?" She replied "well for one my grandmother."

Turns out she'd befriended one of those Nigerian scammers after replying to his email, and had transferred $100,000 to him over a few months. Even when her family found out and confronted her and told her she'd been duped, she insisted that she had no regrets and hoped the young man was enjoying the money

To the OP: where HAVE you been? On a related note, I just want to warn people about this guy going around New York bumping into people, dropping an old broken pair of spectacles and then demanding $100 for a new pair!

I'm guessing the OP is Scottish by his use of the word "ken" - but what does HS stand for?

Yeah, right.  Like that would be more plausible than something like hairy stools?  I think not.
