creating a sample

can you adjust the levels of the wave sample so you can crop out the sounds you dont want in the sample.

    In what way? Are these background noises, or sounds in the middle you want to cut out? If the former, try a sample/wave editor. For the latter, you can create a Curve for VOlume and just drop it when you get to bits of sound you want to silence.
