samples

I have been using Home studio XL 2004 for a couple of years mainly with MIDI. Now I want to explore the samples/ audio side more, but when I try to import audio loops (in Loop explorer view) from the 'Program Disk (CD1)' which are in the folder 'audio loops' I get the message WIN32 error the parameter is incorrect'. The other CD that came with the program says 'Sample Library' but I cannot use this at all: there is a icon called 'setup W02 file'. When I click on this it says 'not a cakewalk format file'. The other three W03, W04 ect files are not recognized by windows. Whats the problem? What do I do?

    Donald,

Assuming Sonar Home Studio 4 XL was installed normally (with the default disk locations). It installed the sample audio loops onto your hard drive-- and that's where you want to load them from. Files on the installation CD are likely compressed and not directly accessible inside Home Studio. Anyhow, look for the loops in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar Home Studio 4\Sample Content\Audio Loops\.
