Or just push CTRL and move the mouse in any direction to zoom... or use a tilt-wheel mouse in combination with the CTRL button to zoom.... please? This would probably be pretty easy...

After "accidentally" using hte zoom functions in Acid, SoundForge and Reaper that use the scroll wheel, I gotta say it's the way to go. Scrool wheel zooming is the fa-schizzle, I'd love to see it implemented with a modifier key for vertical vs. horizontal.

I've gotten so used to it in other apps (SoundForge, CD Architect, Audtion, etc.) That I find myself doing it all the time in Sonar and nothing happens. Almost to the point lately that it's maddening!

I use the Ctrl arrow keys for zooming. Works pretty good however you always have to remember to focus the now time where you want to focus to get it to behave right. Scroll wheel zooming sounds nice though.

I got the Microsoft Mouse with the 5X Zoom button. The best $30.00 I spent. Especially for tight edits and V-Vocal editing...you can;t beat it!

Another vote for scroll wheel zoom here. What about, in addition, preset zoom levels? so that we could just hit a key, and zoom right in to sample level, hit another one, and we're back to viewing 20bars or so? Hmm, a set of 6 keys, 3 for horizontal, 3 for vertical zoom?

Remembered zoom levels and everything. Made working extremely fast. I know you can keybind layouts which is quite similar, but the out-of-the-box feature like that really endears you to workflow.

scroll wheel zoom, yes!! do it :) "F-keys as layout presets. SHIFT-Fkey remembers it, Fkey recalls it. " also sounds like a fab idea. i've seen other programs do this well, and it can make you really swoosh around fast in your program

Scroll Wheel to Zoom? How do you scroll then? now its up/down =up/down and ctrl+up/down = left/right. thats why i want to have extra button and just move the mouse. its better because its zooming without having 'steps' (u have steps with the scroll wheel) regards

ORIGINAL: ericzang http://www.ardamax.com/info_mwc.html this program will do it ($15) but I too think this should already be in sonar Excellent! This app, used in conjunction with key bindings, allowed me to set up scroll wheel horizontal zooming in Track View! I think I'll also be able to set up horizontal scrolling in Console View, which was a feature I loved in Sonar 3.0 that they did away with in 3.1. I am so stoked! I'll test this app for 30 days and if it works without hosing my system I'll gladly fork over the 15 bucks! It is a shame that this is not already in Sonar. It would be a (seemingly) simple matter of allowing the scroll wheel to be key bound, then every user could customize the use of the scroll wheel for their particular workflow. PLEEASE?

Bind O to Zoom Out Horizontal. (Note that you can use something other than I and O if you wish.) 5. Open the Mouse Wheel Control configuration app after you’ve installed it. 6. Click Add. Under Assign to: “Path†should be checked. 7. Hit the browse button, browse to your Sonar program directory (Probably C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR 5 Producer Edition) and select SONARPDR.EXE. 8. In the “Replace With†section, bind Wheel Up to I and Wheel Down to O.
