I just found this but haven't tried it yet. Of course, this is free and Melodyne is not so I can guess there is no miracle but who knows... http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm

thanks for the tip - I downloaded it and I'll try it. Let me know how your experiment goes.

i just googled cakewalk pitch correction and it brought me here ....that's not a bad free bee at all ...i'm using it to tighten pitch on backups that are low in the mix but it's serving that purpose nicely!

have you guys tried the GComp2 compressor by the same company? - I think it is really good - for free, and has some nice presets. I've noticed a nice difference in tracks I've used in on...and sometimes chain 2 of them,,,track and then one on the Master bus...

I use a few of the GVST plug-ins on a regular basis. Can't speak for Gsnap, But Gtune(a simple tuner) is a staple on all of my audio tracks. I use Gmulti (a multi-band compressor) quite a bit. Their GUI's are not flashy, but the software has been reliable, and seems to do what it is supposed to do.
My Soundclick Page Sonar8.3SE,X1dEssential,SHS6XL,P5.2.5,MC5, 2.4Ghz P4,1 Gb RAM,E-MU0404,HD:System120Gb ,Data300Gb,XP Home(SP3),Edirol PCR-M50,Alesis DM6,Alesis ControlPad,Yamaha MG10/2,Alesis M1Mk2 monitors,Samson Power Amp,Lava Lamp Shimozu-Kushiari or Bob

They've upgraded some of their GUI's on some plugs....they offer either as a download.

Great tip, thanks! I can't figure out how to install it in Cakewalk Music Creator Pro24 2004. I copied the dll to the directory Program Files/Cakewalk/Shared Plugins as well as Program Files/Cakewalk/Shared Plugins/VSTPlugins I restarted Cakewalk, and I still don't see the GSnap effect in my effect list. Any help? thank you....

a 4 1/2 year old thread resurrected for a free vst! senelson - you have to make sure that SHS has scanned that folder since you have installed g-snap. if you installed it while SHS was open then it will not "see" it unless you go to OPTIONS>GLOBAL>VST FOLDERS and scan that folder.
