P4 CPU and Timeworks

Has anyone had any P4 denormal problems with the Sonitus or the Timeworks plugs? Time to retire the old PIII 1GHZ systems and go P4 or Xeon. Thanks for you input.

There are more options than just P4/Xeon.

I've had no problems with either set of plugins using a P4 2.0gHz.

Thank you stillfox, that is great to hear. And I appreciate the reply. After 25 hits on this topic, and no real reply's other than yours, perhaps I need to re-phrase the question.

Certainly AMD is an alternative, but only at the Opteron/ Xeon level. The XP series is not an option AFAIC unless the Timeworks and UltraFunk plugs have denormalizing issues. Then, and only then will I consider AMD XP processors.

I have no problems on my P4C 3 gigger. I think the memory bus helps a bunch, cause I find no CPU spikes running my system, certainly nothing like what I see described as the denormal bug. I did see that on my old P4 1.4. That was a socket 423.

I've got a P4 2.4Ghz. I have not noticed any denormalization problems at all with the Timeworks plugs from Sonar2 and both have seen and do see quite a bit of use in my projects.

As far as the sonitus:fx, I have only been using them for a few weeks and mostly just trying them out, but in that time span I haven't noticed any CPU spikes either.

No problems here on my 1.5 ghz P4 with Win2k and S2, S3.

I haven't had any denormalization problems with the Sonitus plugins. I've got a P4 2.5GHz. I don't know about the Timeworks plugins; I use the Pulsar versions.

Same here, I've got a P4 2.4 and the Timeworks and Sonitus plugs work wonderfully (wish I could say the same for all my plugins).
