I installed the 6.2 patch and "Cannot open MASTER.INS. No instrument definitions will be available" came up in a window. I backed up my files, deleted Sonar 6 PE, reinstalled it, reinstalled the patch and the same window comes up every time I open up Sonar.
Does anyone (Cakewalk?) know what this means and what I should do?
Thanks-Pete

Does anyone have a clue about this? Am I the only one that's had this particular problem on install?

Sounds like there might be a problem with your def file. I would check that first.

Do you mean "defining instruments and names" dialog box? I've never edited the master.ins directly, I have always done it this way. Anyway, works fine on my 6.2. HTH

Hey Pete....

I'm still on 5.02PE but didn't I read that the Sonar pathc was changing 'folder' locations during some of the install processes?
If so, maybe the MASTER.INS file is in an incorrect folder since you've done the patch?

I hope this helps and is not a waste of bandwidth.

Good luck

Launch SONAR once with the shift key held down. This will force a resync of your application data to the current user (you will see a prompt on launch).
See if that fixes the problem.

I've got the same problem: "Cannot open MASTER.INS. No instrument definitions will be available"

I've tried opening Sonar with shift held down but that didn't fix the problem.

Just to clarify, which folder should master.ins be stored in?

Pete

(This only started after installing the 6.2 update to the Producer Edition)
