Using MFX plugins

I downloaded some MFX plugins and put them to:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared MIDI Plugins

They don't show up in P5. Are they disabled in the demo, or am I doing something wrong?

Hmm. Did you use "Run", instead of Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt?
If you're going to do this a lot (this method works for DXi or MFX .dlls; not VST and VSTi), there's an easier way. Go to the TenCrazy site, and download the Windows Shell Extensions here. It's an easy install of a couple of .inf files, and there's instructions included.

Once in place, you can register/unregister MFX and DXi plugins by just right-clicking on the proper .dll file. It comes in handy if you're testing a lot of demos, too. While you're there, check out what TenCrazy has to offer along the lines of MFX plugins here.

I now installed the shell extensions, but when trying to register the .dll's with the rightclick menu I get "LoadLibrary("C:\Program") failed - The specified module could not be found.

BUT, I was able to register one plugin from TenCrazy with the bat that came with it. I tried the same technique with the other two plugins but it didn't work. Must be something wrong with those plugins!

I have the exact same problem. I get "LoadLibrary("C:\Program") failed - The specified module could not be found. I installed the shell extensions, too. But the above error message always appears. I'm trying to use the Session Drummer MFX plugin. it's called sessndrn.dll. Is there anything i can do? On the subject of MFX plugins, where besides midiplugins.com, can i find them?

I have a friend who had the same problems happening. He was registering through the Command Prompt, and we also tried using the Shell Extensions. Nothing seemed to work (it was a long distance phone conversation). For some unknown reason, with enough reboots, the MFX installations eventually "took". I've never had that happen myself, but now I can say that it's a possibility.

On the subject of MFX plugins, where besides midiplugins.com, can i find them?

The best little donationware utilities out there: TenCrazy's MFX plugins. Here's one good source that's affordable: Frank's MIDI Plugins. MIDIFo always looked like a great option, but I never got the demo working well, and the full version seems to float in & out of existence on the 'net.

Can anyone here suggest a MIDI FX I can use to kill CC 123?  My aging keyboard sends this effing CC123 sysex and reFX plugs go ape-****!
