I can't speak for anyone else but I defrag all my drives weekly including my sample drive and audio drive without any issues.
I use Auslogic's Disk Defrag. It's free and works great for me.
Defraggler gave me problems on one out of my four computers.

Defragging is crucially important in getting the best out of your system. Where did you get the idea it could do damage?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Defrag HDD's but never defrag SSD's. You'll be just wasting time and SSD life span.

Good point. I've never come to think of that before!
