Good call DA. I mean I'll be making about a song a week for my class but you have to go to work and be a secret trance agent at night. I'll give it one more listen.

Hey DA I listened again. Your reverb sounds so clean what verb did you use?? The whole song sounded much better on the second listen. Almost wish the ending was more in a good ol' trance anthem heroic ending. You know with jets and fireworks. The whole lot .

Your reverb sounds so clean what verb did you use?? The whole song sounded much better on the second listen. That's because this is a better quality bitrate, it should sound better this time! As for the reverbs used, I'm not too efficient with my plugs and I use about 6 or 7 instances of reverb as well 2 reverbs on the AUX channels which the rest of the synths get run through. The vocals were treated differently, if you notice there are 3 vocal tracks. The first MAIN vocal (melody) got a treatment of the EXCELLENT FREE Glaceverb plugin mentioned in these forums last year sometime! A SPECTACULAR reverb VST. The second vocal channel (Orphan's harmony line) got a P5 reverb...what is it called again? Studioverb? Anyways the P5 one is my main one...its really sweet. Also used the a combination of P5 and Glaceverb on the third vocal track which is the "chanting monk" track. That track is actually Orphan chopped up and run in reverse! ehhehe...sounded cool so I used it. HEAVY reverb setting on it...I think it was the "Taj Mahal" preset. Anyways...glad you liked it.

that Canada is so internationale Australian and Belgians wandering around the petro chemical supply house, waiting for DA to get off the phone so they can talk music i have the feeling DA is cultivating a vast network of contacts. i will say -- a lot of times i pooh pooh the idea that 192 sounds so much better than 128, but in this case it's true -- this is really clean -- maybe the better the production the more the encoding matters great work DA

Yeah...same here wrench...I didnt think it would make much difference from 160 to 192kbs but it really does on certain songs! The first five seconds of that UFO fun song I just did were insanely destroyed at 128kbs so I had to upload it at 192 as well, just so the phasing and interference sounded right....otherwise it sounded like static that wasn't intentionally put there! I may have to look at redoing all my samples at 192kbs.... OY!

ORIGINAL: wrench45us i will say -- a lot of times i pooh pooh the idea that 192 sounds so much better than 128, but in this case it's true -- this is really clean -- maybe the better the production the more the encoding matters it's a lot to do with the high end response. lower tones do fine at low bitrates, but highs get clipped. i saw some acoustical study on this once a while back on the net. i've noticed enormous differences in sound quality for different mp3 encodings for some of my more electroacoustic-oriented soundscapes or fm synthesis stuff. these sounds (even with my crappy production skills) are extremely sensitive to changes in the equalization--big parts of the dynamic response get lost at low bitrates. i'm seriously considering paying for hosting so i can get above the soundclick imposed bitrates (and lengths). on a production end it is so annoying when you spend a lot of time eqing a track and then hear it destroyed by mp3 encoding. as for da and orphan, this is quite an accomplishment. da, this is certainly my favorite track from you. i can tell why you're getting attention from djs about the globe. orphan's voice combined with your production gives a flavor for what those guys in deepesh mode should be doing now. that initial vocal statement (which is reversed, right?) pulls the vocals in nicely, subtly. i don't like vocal loops, so i was pleased to hear this was a true song structure. i'm not a dancer by nature, but this is very smoothly and cleanly blended across sections and works as pure music or club music. i was tapping my toe when i listened.
