[track] Merlin McBain - subjective eye

Hi all,

I started working on this probably a year ago and polished it up over the weekend. Let me know what you think.

Eric, so glad to know that I'm not the only one requiring a ridiculous amount of time to finish something. A year, eh!?
I had no problems wrapping my ear around this IDM track....as I usually do. Maybe it's all the ambient I've been listening to lately. I loved the panning air-motion synth you had swirling around. The bass synth was a tad sparse...maybe a little thin sounding.
For an IDM project, this had quite a melodious arrangment. The instruments all sounded great together, although many of them had a very 'vanilla' sound that could have benefited from a plug like Camelspace! Very nicely done and a pleasure to listen to!

Interesting track. I like the tempo and focus on the movement aspects of the sounds. Something I need to learn to master. Some of the panning of the sweeps is perhaps a little to fast but that does not stop me from enjoying it. The uniqueness as DA has pointed out, is its strength.

Thanks for listening and commenting all. And DA, thanks for your detailed comments. I actually own camelspace and like it. I sort of wax and wane in my use of mangling and rythmic effects. I'm currently going through a less is more phase, even pulling back on how much I use things like delay.

Nice i love samples with knowledge and stuff. Great listen. Cool synth arps or whatever that is. Very nice. Good levels and balance. I like those shuffle fills. The high pitched instrument at 3:28 was way too up front on my speakers but other than that this is a good listen.
