thanks for the heads up. D/L them now even though I'm not a big user of these plugs, I feel it important to keep up to date.

Bought the la2a and immediately reworked some Jattao vox with it and to me it sounds amazing! Now, I've never used a real la2a so I can't tell if it's close to the real deal but I prefer it to the Liquid Mix and it certainly ads a different flavor than the Opto previously in T-Racks Deluxe (which I will still use for acoustic guitar). M@ B: Maybe you should put the new comps in the headline as well?
Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

woo-woo! 64 bit native at last, that was always the worst thing, using bitbridge and never being sure if it would crash as you made some minor adjustment to threshold or whatever...the two new plugs look sweet too. must be a GB around the corner...

Great news that 64bit. T-Racks Deluxe is my preferred Mastering plugin and I have been hoping for its 64 bit arrival for months. I haven't received anything about this from IK; so thanks for posting this. I will probably buy the two new vst plugins, but would hope to hear more about them from you users first. C2

We also updated ARC to 64 bit! The update should be in your user area now. :)

although, i believe x1 producer users already have an "1176 type" compressor as part of the pro channel.

Downloaded the TRacks standard update. When running the installer it wants to install into my (x86) folder(s). As these are supposedly the new 64 bit plugs should I install them into new folders in the 64 bit program area???

Yoroplal: I just downloaded my 64bit update to TRacks Deluxe. It does not have the two new effects actually in it. I checked the release notes and it says that it has "access" to the new plugins; so I think this means that will need to purchase them to get "access" to them. BTW, there is a downloadable demo of these two vsts. I will give them a try and maybe spend some Jampoints to get them. C2

You get three choices to install. Vst, RTAS and vst64 in that order. It wanted to install the vst64 into C:\VST. I changed it to C:\program files\Cakewalk\Vst plugins\TRacks. Works fine. I would recomend uninstalling your original plug ins though. For some reason my old x86 are in a different place than the new ones and I did not catch it quick enough.

do you have to go through the whole tedious authorisation process too? if so, does it use up one of those per plug?

Lets see IK is now 64-bit, I can have the LA-2A & 1176. I could control EQ from my Tascam; maybe I don't "need" ProChannel. v8.5.3 is looking better all the time! What does X1 actually do "better" than v8.3.3??? Thanks for the heads up!

What does X1 actually do "better" than v8.5.3??? Not much that I can discern. X1 offers minor, mostly cosmetic UI enhancements. I have no complaints about the integrated channel strip, but I'd really much rather use discrete plugins that I can drag over into the second display and aren't as compact as the claustrophobic ProChannel's layout.

I may go back to 8.5 myself. Zoomtext works with it, not X1. Everytime I go to make adjustments in X1 running Zoomtext, the screen starts jumping around and keeping focus is impossible.

Well I downloaded and installed (painstakingly) all the new 64bit versions of my TRacks stuff...basically all plugs and the TRacks3 std...shell...and meters to boot. And most of them authorized just dandy with the "new" authorization" manager. However...TRacks S3 (the big all in one GUI) won't stay authorized...I burned two...but no more till I hear from IK. And the Classic Compressor and Linear Phase EQ power up with the "need to be authorized" dialog (tho I've already authorized them) and when I click through that it brings up a dialog that says these plugs ARE already authorized...only they are still performing in "demo" mode sending a blast on noise every so many seconds. My Classic EQ also shows it needs authorizing...only since it's part of TRacks 3 (see above) it does not have it's own serial in my IK authorizations. Nor does my Classic Clipper which, although the dll is in the proper file, won't be seen by Sonar at all. Sheesh.

Yup and it looked like everything went just dandy...except for the above mentioned post-authorization nightmares. I'm sure I'll get it all straigtened out. But it's pretty goofy. I can easily live without Classic Comp, Classic Clipper, Classic EQ and Linear Phase EQ until IK gets me working again. Just a PITA. Although I've retraced my steps and can't see what...it's probably some little dimbulb thing I did during the lengthy install procedure. I've got backups of all my 32 bit dlls if I need them also.

I was among the first to complain to IK that their new fangled authorization manager is too "dumb" to recognize the same machine ID(unlike NI's Service Center). So if you make the mistake of doing what they recommend on their installation PDF(i.e.-register your existing plugs with it because it will make life "easy") all it does is needlessly chew up authorizations. Their final response to me was (sorry) just ask for more when you run out down the road some time. My recommendation is do not register your existing products with the new Authorization Manager, do it only for new products that you buy from here on out.
