transposing a singback wav file down witout destroying the sound

What is the newest way of doing this? I thought maybe melodyne, but is there a way you guys and gals do this that works Petter than other ways?

    Hey, man. Just use the DSP Transpose process in the Global menus in Sonar (select the clip > Process > Transpose then adjust it in the dialog window). It works really well and let's you transpose in semitone increments. That's what I used to transpose that stereo wave. It works way better on single tracks.
     
    But Melodyne is really good too.

    Edit: You probably already knew that though but it still works well. The nice thing about Melodyne though is you can use it to create in key harmonies like thirds and fifths. The Transpose process cannot do that... well not as easily.

    Did you mean to post that in thread? Anyway I just try to find songs on youtube if I'm doing a cover then record it from my laptops headphone outs into my DAW. It ain't great but it works for learning stuff.

    i would like to do it legaly. and buy it. but i cant go through this adress thing.
