turning wave to groove clip changes tempo(solved)

i know there is a way of doing this, ive not had a problem till now.
seems when i turn a regular wave file (16 beats=4 measures)into a groove clip,
the clip sounds as if its at half tempo and chopped up.

i know there is a logical explanation.

thanks

i think i figured it out,i need to set the beats per measure corretly.
for the las few days i have been doing the same thing.
finaly realised x1 just isnt doing a great job at guessing and i need to adjust that number.
