update doesn't find x64

Hi.  I moved Sonar 8.5 to a different computer, and while attempting to apply the 8.5.2 Producer patch, get the following message:
The selected Bit version (x32 or x64) of the application is not installed on this system.
But I've been using the x64 version on this PC for some time.  I tried to get help from Cakewalk support, but they no longer deal with this version.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

How did you "move" 8.5 to a different computer?

The only way you can do this is to install it again from scratch, either from the DVD's or the downloads.
The install process lets you choose whether you want to install the 32 or 64 bit version.
If you need both, you have to install twice

Please let us know what you did.

Sounds like he did install from his original disks, which is why he needed to apply the update. I think it's rude that nobody at Cakewalk would go to the trouble of looking up what triggers that message.

nekya, I'd try skipping the 8.5.2 patch and go right to 8.5.3. The updates are cumulative so you don't need to apply each interim patch.

Yes, I installed it from the original discs.  Thought I'd applied all the updates, then came back and noticed the version.  I'd refrained from doing 8.5.3, since it seemed strictly AudioSnap related.  Can they be completely accumulative if .2 = 372 mb, and .3=209 mb?  I'll give it a try, though.  Thanks.
It feels like those who didn't go the X direction have been left adrift.

Attempting to install the 8.5.3 update gets me this:
Cannot locate the required version of the program on this system.
Please install the correct version of the program to use this patch.

But 8.5.0/8.5.1 x64 comes up OK?

Maybe this is something akin the Dim Pro issue, where it kept insisting the product was not correctly installed. It turned out to be a UAC issue. Might make a difference if you're logged in as Administrator (not a user with administrator privileges, but "Administrator" specifically).

The version reads 8.5.0.141.  It's been on the system, and used, for quite some time.  The 8.5.1 update gets the same message as .2.
I'll try the admin thing, but usually it tells me if that level of authorization is needed.
    Thanks for your help.

Turns out I'm already logged in as Administrator.

No - you specifically have to right click the .exe and choose "Run As Administrator"

Being logged in as an admin gives you certain rights, above those of a normal user.

Running As Administrator elevates those rights even further and this is what you need to install Sonar, even the updates & patches.

Thanks for the suggestion.  It doesn't matter.  I get the same 'not installed' message.
It's so odd, because I just completed a long, intensive project using it.

In case someone else has this issue, here's a way around it.
I uninstalled all Cakewalk products, reinstalled only 8.5 x64 from the disk, and immediately ran the updates.
Haven't worked with it yet, but hopefully it's OK.
