urgent help needed

Hi everyone

I have a project which used to open in 96 khz samplerate but now it doesn't since I move the audio samples on my hard drive and reimported them.

It won't change from 44hkz to 96 khz. it works if I delete all my audio clips but I can't do that its too much work

it seems I need to force the sample rate to change or resample all my audio clips but I don't know how to do either of these

Please tell me how to do this I would be very grateful

Tim

Will they open with any sample rate set in X1?

You could just leave them 44.1.  I don't think you gain anything going from 44.1 to 96 if it was recorded at 44.1.  You will just be making a larger file with no benefit.  You will still reap the benefit on new recordings at 96.

You need to change your import settings to original, so it doesn't convert them to 44.1kHz next time.

You cannot mismatch sample rates, so this is why it will not play. They need to match

    Thanks.

The VSTs in this project certainly sound better at 96

How do I change my import settings to original. Or more importantly they have edits in the project and there are a lot of them - can I repsample them now they are in the project?

You change the import settings in the preference menu in sonar.

You can re-sample them to 96kHz, by exporting each track and then importing it again. BUT you will not be doing anything that helps the sound quality. All you will be doing is adding extra zeros to the sample and wasting hard drive space, since its already converted to 44.1kHz
