using other audio players next to Sonar

When using X1, I cannot play file in other players (like Win Media Player). In preferences, I checked "share drivers with other programmes", still it does not work.

Anything else I have to set up to make this work?

    Hi,

I have Sonar running in ASIO mode and everything else running with WDM drivers.... Works for me.

Are you using the V-Studio I/O and console?  There is a known issue that the I/O unit grabs ASIO and has to be recycled.  For example, if I run a VI in standalone mode, I have to turn the I/O off and on before using Sonar or using any other audio software.

May not apply to you--just sharing a little hard-earned knowledge.

Try disengaging SONAR's audio engine and then swtich to the alt app.

True dat, my Firebox no likey multi-client...at least with the ASIO drivers. But turning off the audio engine seems to release it.
