It sure will Joey, and it's pretty straightforward to set up.

Once you've installed the VS-20 drivers, make sure it's connected and open up SONAR - now select Options > Controllers/Surfaces and click on the Add new Controller/Surface icon, set the VS-20 and you'll be good to go:

Although you can also assign the VS-20 as your soundcard, it can be used just as a Control Surface, irrespective of what soundcard you want to use. You can also record the COSM effects direct to SONAR but you will have to assign your track input to the VS-20.

    Hope that helps

    Yes, it should do Joey.

I still use my Line 6 TonePort as my soundcard, and my VS-20 as my controller.

The only time I ever change anything is if I want to use the VS-20's Boss effects to record with - then it's just a simple matter of selecting the VS-20 as Input/Output instead of the TonePort. Once I've recorded, I simply have to switch back.

Glad I saw this post! I just upgraded to X1, and I'm hoping it will still play nice(I assume it will, since it's still all Roland/Cakewalk). It's good to know that I can still use my Focusrite as a soundcard if I want, and get the controls of the V-20.

    Hi there Brent

Yes, you should be fine on both counts - I use my VS-20 as a Control Surface for X1 Producer and my TonePort as my soundcard.
