Hi Matt,
thank you for your reply and I hope you had a great Christmas!
The good new is that I actually have a motu 896mk3. Excuse my lack of knowledge about connecting hardware. I'm new to this world.
The Motu is a great piece of equipment but I'm struggling a bit because I need to use the Cue mix fx software and that means depending on taking the computer to the gig, what I'm trying to avoid.
It will be better if I explain the projects I have and what I need for getting the job done.
I have a solo performance with my brand new boss rc-300 loop station. It has only one mic input and I would like to use 4 mics. But I could manage with only 3 mics. The rc-300 has also a stereo line (instrument input). I'm really new to these things and I have a question: Can I use this line/instrument input for the 2 extra mics I need? Do I need 2
http://www.thomann.de/be/audix_t50_k.htm for being able to plug the extra mics?
Another reason to consider the v-100 would be the control surface feature and the fact that I use sonar 8.5 producer (windows 7 64b) and normally record track per track for my projects. It seems that It would make my life much easier to record with the v-100 even without the use of computer.
Would it also work to use the rc-300 and the v-100 together for live performance using the rc's mic input and the v-100 other inputs? How do I connect them together? I think it would be great because I can use the v-100 as a mixer and use its built-in effects. You see? Only one piece of machine and I get the job done without the computer.
I have also a 5 piece band project: piano, guitar, flute (and sax) acoustic bass and drums. In this case, I know I could use both the v-100 and the motu together so I have enough inputs. But how do I get them to work together? What's the best way to connect them? Should I send the instruments from the motu to the v-100? What's the best way?
As you can see, I'm really new to this world and help is needed.
I would like to invite you to know my projects at:
