.wav audio clip naming convention changed without notice???
I've asked for a "preview" mixdown option for years to give me a thumbnail .wav of a project so I can hear what it sounds like without having to load the project with all of its samples, VTS's etc.
I could never get any traction on this, but ended up making my own workaround -- I have a blank "preview mixdown" track in every project template that is archived, and I simply select a range of the project and choose "bounce to track" and direct it to this track. The audio file created in my wavedata folder was named "[Projectname] - Preview Mixdown.wav. By simply searching for this name, I could pull together dozens of projects and quickly audition them in way less time than it would take to open and close the Sonar projects. The name of the file matched the name of the project. Simple, yes?
As of mid-September, suddenly everything I send to this preview track is instead being named the generic track "Preview Mixdown" (Bounced (1))" and simply incremented up by one - regardless of the project. It no longer includes the track name. This totally blows - not only can I not find these files by their associated file name, I have no easy way to figure out which project they even belong to.
Interestingly, if I drag this audio into Wavelab 7, the full old file name comes in "[Project Name] - [Trackname]" Just not when bouncing the project to an audio track.
Hopefully this is just a setting somewhere?
