what is the diffrence

I paid for platinum thinking that I will get platinum exclusive videos, fx etc. but  it seems that professional is getting the same as platinum. Are there some things down the line that are exclusive to platinum. just wondering about the benefits of having the top tier.

The new LP mastering FX are Platinum exclusives.
edit: Not sure about this, I was going by the Rolling Updates page which disagrees with the documentation.

There's a whole feature comparison chart of the difference between versions. There's a lot of Platinum exclusive content.

Obviously, some of the new content will be for all versions with more towards Pro than Basic.

You're free to switch to the Pro membership if you feel that's enough for you, that's one of the benefits of the membership construction.

There is often content that is release exclusively to Platinum members at the time of release.  I forget what was specifically done last year, maybe some loops or something.

Ya there's a bunch that's exclusive. The list in on this page but in terms of Pro vs Platinum briefly:

Drum replacer, vocal sync, console emulator, mastering plugins, dimension pro full, and a bunch more 3rd party content.

I dunno, seems pretty clear to me of you look at the charts. Look at the dots in the Pro group, then look at the dots in the Platinum group. Any time there's a dot in the Platinum group not in the Pro group, that's something that is Platinum exclusive. It is, as with most audio software, down to included plugins since Cakewalk doesn't artificially limit things like track counts. Platinum comes with a number of additional Cakewalk plugins, and a number of additional third party plugins.

If you already paid for Platinum there would be very little reason to drop down to pro as the renewal price isn't much difference. If you have Pro and are thinking about upgrading to Platinum it is pretty easy to see what additonal toys you'd get.

The quadcurve EQ flyout with frequency analysis is a great Platinum only feature also. Personally I wouldn't downgrade for this alone!

And don't forget 3 add in packs instead of only 1 from AD. I think there worth $80 if bought on there own.

For me, a lot of the items in splat I already have from former versions. That was the deciding factor in my case. Different people, different needs. For me, I will set the extra money aside and save for really nice plugs or new interface. Sonar IS very versatile.

I'm pretty sure the new LP EQ and LP MB are Platinum only. The older P-64 EQ and LP-64 Multiband are in both Pro and Plat.

    Thanks Craig,
I'll recheck the posts I saw. I thought it was from the Baker's stating that one was in the mastering suite in plat and somewhere else in pro. I already own ozone 5. Haven't totally learned that yet. So many programs.😎

Even though I am a SPLAT user, I remember that the only difference between the TOP package and next to top package was the added 3rd Party freeware. I made this jump a long time ago from a STUDIO to PRO version of SONAR at an offer price I couldn't refuse.  I think it cost me $49 to convert, so I went for it.

So, if you have all the plugins and sample libraries already, there was little need to update to SPLAT.  I thought that the add-ons might save me from upgrading and/or purchasing new plugins, I have found that "most" of the added software from CAKE was "jr" versions of the software and that if I liked the product I wound up buying the full version anyway.

So that is that and Splat is Splat.  I still am satisfied with my SPLAT even though I don't get much extra for it.
