where is the CA2A in Pro Channel?
So, I have installed the Pro Channel pack as per....however I can find three of the modules in Prochannel, but nothing that is called CA2A? Where does one find this after installation? Or is it not actually called CA2A in the pro channel list? Thanks

All the others are coming up without doing that, why wouldn't the CA2A - It is moot anyway as now all the rego numbers provided by Cake are coming up as invalid!! sheesh!! This is turning into a thousand sweating clerks!!

Finally!!! It installs auto to Sonar VST folder on C: NOT to the data drive that everything else is (apart from Program files) on. No option given in the install routine either.. As for the registrations - well it seems the registration numbers provided on the account next to the serial numbers must have been made up by someone at Cakewalk, as after going in and separately registering each one (jeez never had to do that before it was always automatic once purchased) I got 4 rego numbers TOTALLY different to those given to my account (and still listed btw - not the new ones I got , which all actually work). ANd of course each time you MUST be carefulful to untag the "send me promo material" box - very sneaky as I am sure many people forget especially if they are doing many registrations... Anyway .....sorted - took a day and a half for 4 tiny VST plugins but it got there in the end.

Glad you got them working, they're worth it. As for untagging the "send me promo material" box - if you knew the number of people who've been trying to get emails from Cakewalk for years without success.. It's been a hot topic on here for years. I'm grateful to get them, so I can learn about offers like the ProChannel bundle.

Hi, I'm a newbie and I'm trying to learn: I may be asking the same question as the OP, but upon reading the answers, I'm a little lost (what are VSTs, for example?) Anyway, something I've been wondering as I see these offers from Cakewalk for new plug-ins: Let's say I purchase and successfully download a set of plug-ins - will they automatically show up in the Browser along with the 'stock' plug-ins in my Sonar X2 Studio or do I need to find them (as it appears the OP had to do?) and somehow route them to my Browser so that they appear there? Thanks!

When you install your shiny new plugins, Sonar will ask you where you want certain features of the plugin installed to on your system. It's recommended that you inistall any 32 bit plugins to: C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk\VST Plugins 64 bit plugs to: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins Many of them might ask where you want their library contents installed, and the choice you make will depend on how many hard drives are on your system and how you have them configured. If you're talking about any of the gigantic orchestral libraries, or a drum library such as BFD2 then you really need to consider installing these on a dedicated, fast, non 'green' internal drive Sonar will already know where the "stock" plugs are located so if you add them to a different path, then you';ll need to add this location to Sonar's "Scan" field in the plugin utility.

VST is a plugin interface specification, you can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/w...tual_Studio_Technology SONAR supports two plugin formats DX and VST (not VST3 though, not yet). Practically all the plugins you will buy are VST. When you install plugins, you should pay attention to the installation process. Many plugins give you an opportunity to control the directory of where the dll for the plugin is installed. That is very important as the SONAR Plug-in manager must be able to find and scan the dll in order for it to be available for use. The directories that the Plug-in manager uses can be found/maintained in Edit > Preferences > File > VST Settings or the Plug-in Manager. Some plugins are hardwired to install in a particular path. That path will most generally be on the C: drive although some might pick up the path from the registry. The CA2A installer is hardwired to install in the SONAR VSTPlugins directory on the C: drive.

The issue here being that the installer does not ask where to install. Sad Cakewalk have still not fixed this. KEv
