why does Sonar X1c hate my plug ins?

(note: this is not my first post...i moved over the summer, got a new email, and had to re-register)

i'm testing a suite of plug ins called Silent Way...they produce control voltages, routed via audio outs (i have a special ADAT module used with the lightpipe out from an Emu for this purpose)...locks up X1c every time i try and use them...

had the same problem w/ the Korg MS20 plug in whenever i tried to run audio thru it and use the pitch follower, locked up every time...posted about it at the time and found no solution, very frustrating...

here's the rub: Silent Way works flawlessly under Tracktion 3, a DAW that hasn't seen development in years...the Korg MS20 plug in also worked flawlessly under T3 as well...

i like X1: good work flow, good tools, useful audio plugs, and i'll continue to use it for some things...things is i want these plugs to work, it's important for what i want to do, and i'm not looking forward to further surprizes... if i can't find a solution to my issues or at least a work-around, X1c is the end of the line for me...

time to download Reaper...

    Ross,

Sorry you are running into trouble.

To help diagnose what's going on, download this tool:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900

Then run it from cmd line using the first example.
The first case detects a hang condition and should result in a dump file created.

If not, use the 2nd case.

Once you have the dumps, file a problem report here:
    http://www.cakewalk.com/support/contact/problemreport.aspx

We'll look into it and let you know what's going on, thanks.

    case 1) detect a hang:
Example: Write a dump for a process named 'hang.exe' when one of its windows is unresponsive for more than 5 seconds:
    C:\>procdump -h sonarpdr.exe hungwindow.dmp

case 2) just create dump files if the hang detection didn't work:
Example: Write 3 dumps 5 seconds apart:
    C:\>procdump -s 5 -n 3 sonarpdr.exe sonarpdr.dmp

Keith: thank you, i'll check that out and submit a problem report as soon as i get a chance...

it would be great to have Silent Way (http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/silentway.html) working well under X1:

"Silent Way is a suite of plug-ins designed for use with analogue synthesisers, and especially as part of a modular analogue synthesiser system. The plug-ins produce no sound themselves, nor do they process sound - rather, they generate signals to be used as control voltages (CVs), which can be patched into the control inputs of oscillators, filters, VCAs etc. of an analogue system. Also, with the addition of the CV Input plug-in, it is possible to bring CVs from the synth into the computer, for recording or processing. "

basically it's a way to directly control modular analog synths from a DAW w/o using midi...the issue i had with the MS20 plug was under specific situations and i was able to use it in Tracktion 3, bounce, and then import into Sonar...i need to have SW running stable in a DAW (and i really wanted to exploit X1's Matrix View), i will also provide the test results to the plug in's developer...

    thanks again...
