why so many main/masters AND new interface
hi, this is what i'm doing, track 1- guitar through POD HP using a S/PDIF out to focousrite scarlett 6i6 then out using S/PDIF to monitors.
track 2, vocal mic into channel 1 on the 6i6
also, i have Superior Drummer 2.0 taking up about 12 tracks.
this is what i'm having problems with. the drums are routed to a bus and i see what's happening on the main/master, on the vox channel i use "vx-64 vocal strip" when i record with that plug in i have to use input echo, i can see that in the same main/master. here's the problem, when i'm in recording mode the guitar signal does not show up in the main/master UNLESS i use input echo. that will not work because of latency or echoland whatever. i do see the guitar signal in the main/master during playback.
there are a couple things that sonar X2 didn't have one is many main/master strips i seem to be able to route the guitar to one of them, but i want everything that's being recorded to show on 1 main/master. do you have any idea what i'm talking about?
also, i'm using a focusrite scarlett 6i6, this is the most complicated piece of hardware i have ever used. naturally i'm wondering if i'm doing something wrong in platinum or the 6i6. i would be most grateful for any suggestions/idea's anyone would have.
thanks
jp
