I'll go Mac before I even consider Windows 10. But would rather go Linux before Mac... Does Sonar even have a 'nix option?

I'm having some issues with my 18i20 and Windows 10, but the drivers recognize the interface. I was checking out the Focusrite beta driver page and saw something about problems with the 2i2 and Windows 10 and the beta driver may offer a solution. Here's a link to the page: http://beta.focusrite.com/Scroll down to the drivers 3.2.2

Also, I ended up rolling back to Windows 7 so I have something working, but I set up a dual boot with Windows 10 to see if I can resolve the issue. It seems that if you want to keep current with the Sonar updates, Windows 10 is inevitable. If you have enough hard drive space, it might be worth setting up a dual boot system.

It also says that the 18i20 works with 1.8, but it doesn't work (well) for me. It's very unreliable.

no more koolaid please! This forum is amazing. I am already back to windows 7-- Yeah! everything works- I have drivers I have addictive drums (another problem). I do a lot with this machine (too much). I run most of my business applications, my MS office applications, and sonar with about 60 projects. I did this upgrade this morning and all day I was like- why? bottom line- if I have to do something like this with this machine where it does all it does I will hire a tech for about 2-300$ to do it all. wow, you guys are great! thanks and thanks

I guess I will move out of the Focusrite fan club. This company is often quite good when it comes to driver support. There really shouldn't be any issues with a USB 2 audio interface. Windows 10 should be able to use the W7/W8 drivers with no issues.

It won't be much different. W10 is going to be an evolving OS. People went through hell with El Capitan. I got emails warning Mac users to avoid that update until developers could make their stuff work. Linux will always be a dead end and only the delusional ones will try to prove everyone wrong. There will be advantages to Windows 10 as there will be support for new lower latency platforms.

Hi Have the latest drivers for Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and upgraded to windows 10 with my I7 computer which I purchased 2010. I have the latest windows 10 updates and use the latest focusrite driver updates. I had to update all my I7 drivers Including chipset etc.I also upgrade my ram from 4gig to 12 gig and all runs perfectly fast with no glitches. The Scarlett 6i6 works flawlessly and I have never come accross a more reliable and sturdy sound box 200%. Just My 10cents worth all the best john

I'm wondering if the differences are not so much which Focusrite drivers work with Windows 10, but which ones work with certain chipsets. I have an Intel i7 with a Gigabyte z68x motherboard and have many problems since upgrading to Windows 10. I didn't have any of these issues under Windows 7.

Agree. I have the 18i20 on win 10 and it's flawless. But it certainly wasn't when I upgraded. I had to reinstall the driver a number of times, tweak the bios, tweak power settings. Can't really remember exactly what I did to get it working because I was also mucking around with new SSD drives and graphics cards and drivers for Nividia for video production at the same time. But it did come down to settings, and it has been working perfectly now for months. My problems centred around power settings and USB control settings. I would start by restoring default settings to your bios, reboot, re-download and install the current focusrite driver as shown in the win10 compatibility list in their FAQ list, re-name your aud.ini file so that sonar can rebuild a new one, and reboot. I've honestly found win10 rock steady, just needed some tweaking up, just like every other OS before it. You do need to keep everything up to date however. As an aside. I would never return to Mac, or PT. Spent more time working on the system than I did on my music. Upgrades were out of the question for me, and people I know who have stuck with it, are now living/working in the past with ancient hardware and software. IMHO.

I suspect you are right about the settings. I've been trying different ones, mostly based on the suggestions on the Focusrite website. I haven't changed much in the BIOS, but maybe I should have a look. I do remember making changes when I first installed Windows 7, but that was a long time ago and I've forgotten what they were, so maybe going back to defaults as you suggested would help.
