windows no longer reading x2's bmp icon files?just shows the defult flower screen for each

i have toggled something and when i click on my track icon folders, they all come up as the generic windows flower. does anyone know how to put back the pics of each and every icon, so that you don't have to click on em to see what they are? the only way to know what they are for me is to choose it, by that time it's too late and i have to re guess what icon i was using. i ve tried to reinstall x2 and that didn't fix the problem. win 7 64 bit , i5,2tb,1tb external, 8 gig, sonar x2,64 & 32bit
