[workaround post 13 but still failing sometimes] TH2 Plugin fails to load
Install went ok but when I tried to load the Overloud TH2 is says the plug in not installed correctly and crashes. I tried rebooting, rescanning vsts, removing the th2 files and reinstalling just that from the x2 setup running the setup as admin. I am running it in a new project as well a an existing project. The new project is empty of data but has z3ta and rapture in it. I may try removing them ans see what happens. Nothing seems to work. I did send in the dump files so hopefully that will help find a solution. Has anyone else tried the TH2?

Tom Riggs I only installed the first four files in the setup. I have not installed any of the extra contient. Could that be it? Could be Tom - I don't see any other mentions of TH2 not working in the forums. I would try a fresh full install and see how it goes. It's worth the bother, tons better than Guitar Rig IMO

Hey Tom, Are you experiencing this with TH2 Producer, the one included with SONAR? Or the retail version?

Mine crashes as well, plus the GUI does not refresh properly when minimized and I get no audio passing through it when it's patched on a track. It's the SONAR version, not stand alone. Specs: SONAR X2 64 Bit SONY Viao Laptop Win 7 64 bit 4 gbs RAM M Audio Fast Track Pro USB (ASIO) Intel dual core with integrated video also Intel

@crg the thread title says x2. I have also tried it with x1 as well and it still fails. I am mobile now so I will have to wait till i get home. I am thinging that the install of th2 may be somehow corrupted. If i fight with it enough i can get it to load the gui but closing the project and re-opening it fails again but in a different way. this time it complains that it cant find a png image before it fails.

Update: I uninstalled x2, manually removed the leftover registry entries and files. Re-installed x2. When I ran the first time I did not import settings from x1 as I had done the first time I installed. I thought it was going to work because it loaded the th2 plugin in a clean project. Then I tried closing the project and when I opened it again I still get the error that the plugin is not installed correctly. However X2 no longer crashes after it fails to load the th2 plugin as it was doing before. That is at least some progress. Just to clarify I get the message that the th2 producer 64 plugin is not installed correctly now. I rebooted the computer and tried the project and it opens the th2 plugin again. Closing the progect and trying again causes the VST Plug-in Error stating the following plugin failed to load. Then I rebooted again and was able to load th2 again. This time I clicked on the preferences and deselected the "show tool tips" option and closed. Tested again and now I can open th2 anytime without problems. Just to verify I turned the "show tool tips" option back on and closed the project. Shure enough th2 fails to load again. I rebooted, turned the option off and all is well again. Please note that rebooting did not get things working before I removed and reinstalled without importing the settings from x1 the first time x2 is loaded I will post an error report with these details.

Another update: Well its too good to be true. It still fails to load when I change from an older project to a new one and sonar complains about an improper argument. A reboot gets things working again but too much hassle for now.

Tom don't know if this applies to your issue, but I got mine working. Even though it is a 64 bit plug-in it was loading on my machine through jBridge....not sure why, and I couldn't tell at first because this is a laptop with a small screen so I couldn't see the jBridge info at the bottom of the plug-in's window (this would also explain the GUI issues I was having). After unchecking the jBridge option in the plug-in manager now it runs fine. The same thing happened with the new R Mix plug-in as well. Again not sure why, but it was a simple fix.

sounds like you installed both 32 & 64 bit versions? there have been previous issues with VST IDs (how the host recognises the plug) when both are installed, but i thought that was a bitbridge/plugin manager thing...?

@pwal. Nope I do not have any 32 bit version of sonar installed. I have the 64 bit versions of 8.5, x1 and now x2. But thanks it does kind of sound like a similar issue.

sorry, 32/64 of the plug not the host, when the x64 host would see both versions of the plug

@pwal AFIK The only way to install the 32 bit version of th2 is to install the 32 bit version of x2.

Ok I had more time for testing. It seems that it has a problem with bitbridge. Any project with bitbridge loaded has more trouble with th2 producer-x2. The version of bitbridge I have on my system is 1.0.5.1185 and says is was last modified 11/1/2009. Can someone check their version of bitbridge to see if I have the correct version? Thanks
