x2 producer no midi in.
I had no problem with midi in/out in Producer x2 windows 8. Then it just stopped working. Midi out still works. Midi In works in Sonar studio x2 and my PGMusic programs just fine. I'm using an Audiophile usb. I made sure it was selected in the midi device preferences and selected as the input on the tracks. I tried loading previous projects with their settings with no luck. I may try to reinstall X2 when I have some more time. I really don't want to have to do that. Any suggestions? Bill

I turned on midi input echo in a track and got midi in. I have to turn the echo on/off for each track. With more than one track on it plays/records in each one. No good. Before this problem I only had to click on a track and that was the only one responding the the midi in. What am I missing? And how could this have happened in ALL my project files? Baffled Bill

Hi Bill. Sounds to me like you need to go to Preferences (press P) and under the Midi section, click Playback and Recording. Then you need to enable "Always Echo Current MIDI Track."

There is a preferences setting that controls the auto-setting of input echo on. Make sure that is checked, and then it will automatically change as you change which track is selected. Bob Bone

re: Then you need to enable "Always Echo Current MIDI Track." That did the trick! Thanks so much. I wonder how it got turned off. I was playing using it and it changed somehow. I hadn't changed the preferences. Also it seems On or Off doesn't get saved with the project. Bill

Glad that sorted you out Bill. You're right, it doesn't get saved with the project. It's (supposed to be) a global setting which gets saved and remembered after you click apply and/or ok. As to how it got turned off, I've no idea. Mine's always been turned on and has stayed that way.
