    I have a Heritage 550. I guess it's 25 less.
In my mind, a Heritage is a Gibson.
But my mind has been known to be incorrect.

A friend of mine bought a few years ago...all I know is that it was VERY expensive, but a beautiful guitar.

The only two guitars I ever dreamed of owning after seeing, hearing, playing, were a Martin and a Heritage. Gibson'S HAVE LEFT ME FEELING UNINSPIRED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF SO MANY TIMES. OF COURSE, TO BE FAIR, THERE ARE FAR LESS LEFTY OPTIONS.

    Thanks Tim,

I think the 575 is solid wood and the 550 is the more durable and practical laminated version.

Can I assume that you like yours and feel it is well built?

    best regards,
    mike

It seems like wood to me. I Didn't know about the laminate. you sure about that?

Yea, i like it. It's on just about everything I've done in the last 10 years that you may have heard.
Very well built as far as I can tell.
It's been pretty much my go to axe. Straight into the board.

    That 575 looks real sweet.

Anyway, I picked it I think mainly because it has a stud bridge as apposed to floating. While I love the jazzy tone that a floating bridge gives, I've just had troubles in the past with them as I was always wacking them out of tune:)  (Playing rock n roll on a Barney Kessel.) I miss that sweet axe....:)

I think you'll be happy with it if it's in good shape.
I don't think I'd ever have the nerve to buy something like that off ebay sight unseen though.

Yea, you're right about the laminate.

The 575 does appear to be the one to get for that jazzy 175 tone.
    good luck with that.
    Thanks.

I had a great Heritage 535. It was really amazing in terms of tone and construction. There's a couple things I never really liked. Wooden pickguards don't work for me and the Schaller pickups got changed out.

My experience is that you only buy one if you really love it, and don't buy a brand new one. They depreciate like cars and resale can be a slow process. From an overall quality standpoint, they are hard to beat.

Hey Mike, I think you should go for that 575.

In such a deperate search for credibility this would really turn you into 'somebody'.

It's a bargain, what are you waiting for?

The great irony of my interest in guitars is that each nice one I have merely highlights my inadequacy as a guitar player when I play on them. I just seem to like 'em because I like 'em.

    :-)
I have a growing collection as well...
