Re: How about Paragon Backup and Recovery 16? 2016/11/06 20:00:06 (permalink)
So here I am one again in the middle of it all. Trying to clone a small ssd to a bigger one I've tried most of the cloners mentioned only to find they all have hitches or fail to work at all. One requires you to post a comment on social media before you can use it. Even that failed.

Paragon's migrate has no free trial and I won't pay for something that ultimately fails to do the job.

Finally got EaseUS to go without a hitch only to find it never completed the task. Now I can't boot at all. Period!

Now I'm trying to create win10 bootable media on a win7 machine and that's not working.

Good luck guys!

All I can say is that cloning and backup/imaging tools are two different animals.

Use the cloning and migration tools supplied by the vendor of your new disk drive.  I had no issues using the Samsung magician tools to clone my WD HDD (80GB) onto a Samsung SSD (250GB).

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

It's abit late for that now (I'd have to download it after the fact).

What I need is a way to fix the boot sector on the original boot drive since it won't boot or load windows.

I was going thru F12 to set the boot path but I've apparently done it so many times it will no longer let me go there.

I have no DVD drive so my only options are vNIC or USB, which I can no longer do due to the above.
