Y'all would be a lot less stressed if you stopped tying the point releases to actual months.

... ok I get that Cake try to do it because of the monthly subscribers who would complain, it's not really a legit complaint. Did I just destroy my own straw man? Dang. I guess that is what it was for.

There are no monthly subscribers just folks who have bought Sonar on time payment instead of pay upfront which is the normal way retail purchase works.

Yes, monthly subscribers do exist. https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/SONAR-FAQ

The term monthly is used multiple times. And some users choose to opt out of the monthly payments, thus ending their monthly subscription. I'm aware of the qualifications for ownership, but all of the above is also true.

It does make me wonder how payments now coorelate to actual releases now they are starting to miss the calendar month by a few days.

I believe it's tied to the number of updates, hence 2017.09 instead of September 2017. But someone from Cakewalk would need to confirm.

I think Mudgel was referring to, or perhaps objecting to the term 'Subscribers' itself. It is seen as somewhat of a 'dirty word', and certain people do their best to distance Cakewalks/SONARs system/model as far away from a 'Subscription' model as possible for that reason.

I'm a bit of a softie really. I'm grateful that Sonar is supported, but I don't want to pressure the folks to keep having to work harder, unless it's their genuine passion of course.
With the Windows 10 Fall update coming this month, they might be holding off to see what they're up against and have to deal with.

There are still notes that cannot played, because the bakers have not yet programmed the full scale.
Maybe we get finally the c#6 or the f#1 this month. I'm still missing the g4.

I think H flat tested poorly with the Beta group, hence the delay.

If Win 10 updates create show stoppers for previous versions (I'd be surprised) but also genuinely feel sorry for the non-lifers out there.

(still think AD needs to re-think their validation process, having to re-authorize every time Windows does any real update is a pain for legitimate owners)

Here in Germany, H is a perfectly acceptable note! Seriously, you can look it up. It's what we call B natural. What we call Bb, they call B. It's a bit confusing at first but you get used to it eventually. There is not, however, an H flat.
