The only Mod I did was to add the newer amps.
When one loads up this template I think it still uses the older amps ( they sound Great )
FYI the new versions of the original amps have been tweaked a little bit, and I think they sound a little better. You might want to try loading in the newer versions and saving them as part of your template.
Hi Craig ,
I happen to agree with you . Yes , the new amps do sound better
One can only imagine how much time ,work , and effort you have put into creating the new amps plus the new pedal boards.
A good deal of my free time in the past few days has involved me creating a new starting off point C A - X Amp template that will show up in the start screen .
After much trial and error I have come up with this one for now .
This Template is based on the original Showcase- CA-X Amp Platinum cwt.
All I did was replace the old amps with your new and improved CA -X amps ....
Console View screen capture
I hope in the future I can get to the point where I will have created my own little custom CA-X Amp template.
For now I'm still sort of piggy backing off your hard work . I hope that this is OK .
One of the things that has became very clear to me was that your amps combined with a usable template tailored to the individual players needs can be of great value to the SONAR user while serving a number of the greater needs one may encounter in their music and productions .
For the sake of the conversation, a few possible examples of how one can put this concept & tool to use ...
I will use a modded CA-X Amp template for all of the examples ...the mod is the addition of one audio track .
From this point in this post , all the guitar players names have been changed to protect the innocent
Guitarist A has a little spare time and feels like practicing some new things and music on their guitar . They Dial up a backing track and insert it into the modded CA-X Amp template , set the songs tempo . They can now use a variety of CA - X amps to practice with .
Guitarist A is feeling pretty good after a productive practice session .
Guitarist B has a densely track populated song project . They may want to experiment with guitar sounds and just have a go at unleashing their creativity in a safe controlled environment . Guitarist B may decide to create a work file mix of their project and render it as a backing track to play over and experiment with ....
Guitarist B may soon discover that using a modded template is a very good approach when the little light bulb gets lit ...what is the little light bulb that has just gotten lit ?
Guitarist B has found out that once a guitar part has been recorded "regardless of the sound used in the template " that they can slide the guitar part over to a different CA - X amp sim and hear how that works out .
Guitarist B is sitting there thinking " Whoa man I may have found some Hidden SONAR Mojo doing it this way I better keep this one a secret "
Guitarist C has been asked to play in a SONAR Song Forum collab . Guitarist C does what Guitarist B did and gets his guitar tracks delivered early for the first time in his life ...
All of Guitarist C collab mate are stunned
something like this has never happened before
Guitarist D want's to learn how to get Carlo's Santana's guitar tone off a certain album ....
Guitarist D imports the Santana track that has the tones he is looking to copy into the SONAR CA-X Amp Sim template on the extra audio track ..
Guitarist D is having a pretty good time trying to nab the tones ...he is getting most of them ...
Then he says to himself what would happen if ?
At this point of the story things become even more fictional than they have been so far ...
The screen shot examples I may be using are only to describe a process and they may not be a Carlo's Santana sound ...
Guitarist D whether he knows it or not has decided to grab the SONAR Bull by the horns a go for a Ride ...
The new Mantra is what would happen if ?
Guitarist D decide to look into the Blues Lead sound as a starting off point
Being somewhat curios he decided to extract the effects chain of that amp sim to have a better look
He then says to himself what if I put the effects chain in the multi dock ?
All of the effects chain are placed in the multi dock where they can be dialed in one at a time
At this point Guitarist D is saying to himself WOW this is cool ....
I wonder what would happen if I start changing effects ?
For the sake of brevity I'm gonna show a different amp that I modded ...
I already have the screen shots of the process ...
Vintage Crunch mods w other Cakewalk Effects
New Amp ALA Vintage Crunch ...the only thing missing are the face plate controls (i don't know how to do that yet)
Any way Guitarist D is still with us , he is in his man cave / studio trying to figure it all out
thank you for letting me share ..
