64 vs 2 bit

If I did projects in 32, will they play right in 64.  The CW FX reverb I used isn't available in 64.

If I load both, will one just overwrite the other, or will I be able to get to the reverb in 32 while in 64?

It should playback no problem.. although from what I ascertain some plugins that are not 64bit will need  to be loaded with J bridge or bit bridge. Even though they are not 64 bit it should still work.. and then some 32 bit plugins wont work at all. 64 bit is still new and some plugin designers havent made the switch yet.. There is a thread on here with the most recent 64 bit plugins that are 64 bit native..

You don't need to think about anything my friend!

If a plugin have both a x32bit version and a 64bit version it will use the 64bit version of that plugin inside SONAR 8.5.3 x64.

If the plugin in use has only a 32bit version at the time, SONAR 8.5.3 x64 will use that x32 plugin in Bitbridge-mode instead and run it inside as it was a 64bit plugin. 98 % of all plugins I know work with SONAR 2 bitbridge.

    Hope this answer your questions..
    Best Regards
    Freddie

What kind of bits are you talking about? The PC architecture or the actual bit depth? Maybe you might be getting them both confused.

A project recorded on XP32 will play on Vista64. The reverb will depend on if its 64bit ready. You can also use bitbridhe or jbridge

If your talking about bith depths, then no sound card can playback higher than 24bits fixed point. There are 32 and 64bit floating points

32 bit and 64bit floating point processing means that after you record your audio at 24bit, you can convert it to 32bit floating point. This means that it will add the extra bits after it is recorded. These extra bits that get added onto the file after its recorded, will give  you more headroom for processing (audio calculations)

How do I get in "Bitbridge Mode"?  How do I know the plug-in needs it, and then how to open with it?

All I know is Sonar used to be in 32 bit, now it's 64bit, which is what I loaded.  In Options>Audio there's a box to check for 64.

That button is not for soanr 64 or sonar 32bit. That button is to enable the 64bit processing engine. The 64bit processing engine can be used in sonar 32 and sonar 64bit. That has nothnig to do with the sonar 32bit and sonar 64bit instals

You are getting the architecture and the bit depths confused. That's ok, because it is confusing at first.

When I saw the title "64 vs 2 bit" I thought it was about low-bit converters, maybe DSD versus PCM. OP: you can correct your thread topic line by editing the first post.
