Side note... The Floyd Rose is the reason I stopped playing guitar for a lot of years. I had hyper-hydrosis (excessive sweating of the hands and feet) and rusted out strings within days - even if I played only once. It because so cumbersome to maintain my guitar that I just gave up. In retrospect, I should have bought a different guitar with a basic bridge and kept at it. I had surgery to correct this (sorry if it's oversharing) and then rekindled my love for the guitar in a big way. Now my strings last forever! :)

Starise James that looks like a great solution to my problem ( well one of them anyway). Thanks for that info.
You bet! Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be glad to help out.

bapu ...by any other name is just a tremelo.
[pedantic] Strictly speaking, it's a 'vibrato' (change in pitch) and not a 'tremolo' (change in volume) [/pedantic]

James we have at least one other here who has that problem ( excessive sweating ) it was causing the hardware on his guitar to tarnish. This was a subject here on the CH not long ago. Yeah we will discuss just about anything here. Some of the things we discuss get us in trouble sometimes but maybe you already noticed that. It seems to be a common thing. I sweat a lot when it gets hot out, I don't know if it's considered excessive but it's a lot. Is soaking a few shirts and the crotch of my pants excessive? I sweat and it runs down into my pants.

After been a member here for many years, but only recently ventured into the CH, and glad I did!!! :) If anyone has questions on the sweating of the hands/feet I'd be happy to tell them about my experience (feel free to point me to the thread). I won't go into details if no one cares, but I will say if you are suffering from it you KNOW the social issues and even mechanical issues (such as rusting out trem parts). Fixing this was one of the single greatest things to happen in my life.

I'm not sure how to search it, but it was Rain who commented that his guitar hardware was loosing the finish because of it if that helps.I think some others commented they had similar issues with sweat and corrosion. Diet was also mentioned as a possible remedy to some cases. I didn't intend to make anything silly out of your experiences. I can certainly see how that would cause issues if you are a guitar player. I am glad that you are better now.

Yep. Rain is our resident acid-sweat guy. My friend also has a lot of issues with this (he a guitarist for Dennis DeYoung), he has to wipe down his guitars a LOT.

Dude, I didn't get any impression you were making anything silly out of it. :) It's really a challenge for those that suffer and I feel for them. In my 20s I had surgery to fix this. I had what's called an Endoscopic Transthoracic Sympathectomy. In essence, they make four holes - three for each side of your body. One on each side and one in your back. They first send in a camera (I have this all on video tape! :)) They then send in a tool that opens up in you and looks like a rake. They deflate your lung and hold it out of the way with the rake. They then send in a soldering iron (OK, probably called something different) and they cauterize a certain set of Ganglia (bunch of nerve cells). They have to get the right ones of course. Went in on a Friday and was told I'd be back to work Monday. This was pretty experimental at the time and I had to do it at a university hospital where students hacked me up pretty good. I think it was three weeks before I could go back to work. Hell, I couldn't do most normal function unassisted (found out just how much my wife loved me) and was in the most severe pain of my life. In the hospital, I would have shot myself if I had a gun - no doubt in my mind. Took a full year to recover completely. And it was worth ALL of that. I could finally pet my cat or dog without getting a wet hand covered in hair. I could hold my wife's hand without being self-conscious. Hell, I could finally shake hands with people without total embarrassment. It changed my life. I also stopped rusting strings and trem bridges. :) I would imagine the procedure is easy-peasy now since this was probably around 96'.

So you have one and a third sides to your body?

ha ha ha my maths are so awesome!!! :) It's three holes each side, so 6 total. I was thinking it was two per side and switched per thought. I think. Or I don't think. All I know is when you scratch a certain spot on my back, it tickles my nipple. True story - some nerve reconnected wrongly. I thought - wow, if I could do that ON PURPOSE, I would be scratching my neck ALL DAY with a HUGE smile on my face and no one would no what was going on. :D :D :D

Reminds me of the guy riding at the back of the bus who sneezes and then wipes his crotch off with a towel. After a few times of this a woman who was sitting near says "That's disgusting!" "Sorry," says the guy, "but everytime I sneeze I have an orgasm." "Oh..." says the woman, a bit taken aback, "Do you take anything for that condition?" "Yeah, " the guy replies, "pepper."
