Free is free, as far as I know. You can read the same page as I did and extrapolate what you will from that. Perhaps there is a registration.

What's "behind the panel" that's not included?  Just curious.

There are some further  tweakable features behind the omitted panel, effects [delay, chorus], Motion Recorder, LFO, vocal filter, mod matrix, arpeggiator, ect. ftp://ftp.arturia.net/pub/manual/minimoogV2.0_EN.pdf

It appears that whatever has been omitted is not native to the original Minimoog's set of features and that those under the panel features were merely enhancements developed by Arturia for the software emulation.

Essentially, you will have a free [software] Minimoog that is much like the original constructed by Bob Moog.

Yea, my minimoog doesn't have any effects, a separate LFO, vocal filter, arp or matrix.  It still sounds great, tho.

    Thanks for the head's up.

My download is underway. I did have to submit my email and name. There was no catch, except for being a recipient of the newsletter.

    Rules:
Offer begins June 21, 2012 00:01 CET and ends June 22, 2012 00:01 CET. All participants will receive an automated email including a download link and a personal activation code. This distribution is limited to one code per partcipant. Any attempt by a participant to obtain more than ONE download by using multiple/different e-mail addresses, identities or any other methods will void all of that participant's entries. No mechanically reproduced entries are permitted. Minimoog V Original contains the Minimoog V synthesizer interface and sound engine as originally released by Arturia in collaboration with Bob Moog, without extra features available bellow the top panel. This version is granting no copy protection through eLicenser, no support whatsoever and no free upgrade by the manufacturer. Participants will be automatically included in the Arturia user database and will be sent the company's newsletter.

It is busy, but keep trying. Its only a 64 Mb download. Keep reloading the page and you'll get through, just as I did. The download is good for 24 hours.

Getting to the request form and the download takes forever. But the download itself went surprisingly fast.

64mb? Mac version is 101 - usually, Mac version tend to be lighter. Odd.

The nice part is that its entirely ... free. But it's actually 64.9 Mb [compressed] for the PC version, strangely.

FYI this also functions as a stand alone VST and is both 32 and 64 bit.

There you have it. The Mac download isn't compressed. :)

Authorized in a wink and opens up just fine in Logic and Pro Tools (for a second I thought it looked too good to be true and that it would be standalone or something.)

Thanks again for the heads up, man!

I don't think its down at all. In fact, when it first became available, I got the same, "oops", but kept reloading 'til I got through and then registered and got my download link and authorization.

Be persistent, and you'll get what you're after. Its a small download, but a lot of people are trying to do the same thing at the same time.

Its worth it, 'cuz this is a pretty awesome freebie, for sure. Its got a big fat sound and 400 presets. Don't give up 'til you get it. You've got about 20 more hours to get it

Dang!  After about 50 page reloads and finally downloading from a blank screen with the IE9 download window being the only visible sign of connection to Arturia I got it!

That server must look like a New Jersey Walmart at Midnight on Black Friday right now.....

Lol. Its probably more like a Walmart in Bangladesh being ransacked after a hurricane. But see, you got it for free! And what you did was a lot easier than paying 200 dollars and working a day or two to get the money to buy it. Congrats! Its all about dogged persistence and a tireless trigger finger.

there servers are taking a battering , taking ages to get in.. errm why didn't they get more bandwidth!!

it's been mentioned on LOADS of forums, so really getting cained.. I got the files via their public ftp BUT not 100% they are the correct ones. Far quicker to access also.

Its like a flood of 10,000 people coming in for a drink of water out of a small garden hose during a 24 hour period. They must be getting vastly overloaded.

I tried to get the message out here hours before it was starting. Its good to hear that at least some of you are getting through.

I got it, I think it's tricky the timing.. as in the US the time is well evening , in europe it's like 4am :)

I went in via their FTP site to get the 2 files = far quicker.. it's off the "pub" folder. registering and maybe a 100k file webpage took far longer than the MB downloads :)

Yes, the unpredictability of analog randomness did have its unique character. But its nice to have slice of the digital pie, even if its only a small piece of the original. :)
