Agreed with the original post. There were other excellent posts I wish I could acknowledge and quote - but this sh*tty forum software won't let me....

I hate to be one of those "everything works great for me..." guys, but it does. This forum on my Macbook with Safari works flawlessly. Quick, formatted perfectly, etc. I think the blame for the problems that many have has to be divided between the enormous number of constantly changing/updating systems and Cakewalk's not being able to keep up... I agree that clearing your cache may be a possible fix for some people. Best, Rob

Other than occasional slow loading - and I can't really tell whether that's on CW's side on somewhere in between - the forum works OK here on IE8 & 9, including quoting (just highlight what you want to quote before clicking the Reply button). That said, I certainly wouldn't complain if the forum software were upgraded. Because Danny's right - this is a great user forum that always seems to be busy, and alone that does wonders for CW and Roland.

I'm also using a MacBook and Safari. And I get different issues every day. This morning for example, I see html all over the place, posted pictures have been replaced w/ links, I can't quote but I can reply. FWIW, if it was a problem w/ clearing the cache, wouldn't there be some kind of consistency in the issues? Because for me it is totally random. But it's constant. As many people w/ as many browser visit other forums w/ issues so I place the blame 100% on Cakewalk. Plus, if they couldn't make a simple forum work due to the variety of configuration, how could they even hope to code a DAW when PCs are all different...

my only issue, because I can live with most of these little quirks is.. its so random if spell check shows up, or insert photo, font options, its like a 1 out of 10 thing. like even just now when I open up "open full version" to post a photo link... I see the those options for like 2 seconds then they disappear. the rest I can deal with. IE 10

The forum search never really worked as it should. I have better luck google w/ a bunch of key words and the word Cakewalk at the end.

I've also had good luck with google's advanced search functionality where you can specify the domain to be searched, and how far you want to look back. The result of which looks like this, and you can just plop this into the normal google bar: "zoom r16 site: http://forum.cakewalk.com/" - without the double quotes.

I haven't had too much problem with forum software using chrome, internet explorer, or safari on iPad/iPod. Forum search has never really worked all that well as long as I can remember. Sometimes I run into formatting issues when posting where it seems to get messed up and is hard to fix. But for the most part its adequate. It wold be nice if forum had better support for small mobile devices like iPod. It works ok but it would be nice if formating fitted the small mobile device platform.

I use IE and Android and have no problems. This is being typed in the Quick Reply box using my Samsung S3. Here's a new paragraph. And another. I'm not going to quote anything though . Grum.

A short list of bugs I've been dealing w/ using Safari: The Jump To button at the bottom of the page not working. That like, 3 days out of 5. Reoccurring, Random. Reply To Message/Message Option not working, so I can't edit or quote. 1 day of of 2. Reoccurring, Random. Weird issues w/ html code showing up instead of buttons, or buttons piled up, or formatting going wrong. Everyday. Reoccurring, Random. Quick Reply not even accessible for me to type in. Only once in the last two week. Cannot post images/links to image. 1 day out of 3. Reoccuring. Random. Quick Reply not posting. 3 days out of 5. Reoccurring, Random. Images in posts replaced w/ html, and extensive inclusion of html wherever there is a quote or an emoticon - New bug as of today. Using Firefox: Can't format. Can't quote. Can't post pictures. Text formatting tools unavailable. Tat's the regular, permanent stuff. Random one: can't post. Happened once a few days ago, lasted an entire afternoon. I'm forgetting some, but at least a couple of these have been plaguing me everyday for the last couple of week. Ever since that one time when the forum went down for a few hours if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, and at least 2 occurrences of "Cannot Start New Thread" w/ either Safari and FF in the last week. When I'm talking about occurrences, I'm not talking about a few tries. The issue usually goes on all through the day or at least for many hours.

riojazz Well, I can't quote anyone and I don't want to write long messages that run into one paragraph, so I do what I can however I can. Are you using Firefox? This forum software does not work with the latest version of Firefox. Try using chrome and the WSIWG editing will work. Jonathan

Thank you, yes, I normally use Firefox. It has been problematic for many versions. It just seems silly to have to use another browser only for this forum.

I do understand the price of a forum with as much traffic as we see here can cost a pretty penny for a newer version (better flow, updates) and I imagine that's why they haven't pulled the trigger yet, they want to be sure before making commitment. this site has a lot of traffic, needs to be planned, with that said, please... please..
