A Wonderful Christmas
Well, here's to the Christmas Season. Now remember, my music is for videos and this one will be for my cousin Dave, who is skiing right now and taking some video for me to put this music to. I will have a fun time working with his video and when it is all done, I will post the video on my SoundClick page. It most likely won't be until next year, sometime. But, for now, hope you will enjoy this piece and have a very, very Merry Christmas http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12597726 "A Wonderful Christmas" Peace and Blessings, John

Robbie, No, not red letter bible version, Christmas red and green letter version. My cousin has skied all over the world and use to be on several ski patrols in the north eastern states, but is my age now (still kinda young) and just skis different slopes in Vermont and Maine, mostly. Hope he sends me some good footage. Hope you enjoyed the music. Peace and Blessings, John

Hi John, Really nice piece here. The only thing....it's in mono on my end. Also, the segue at 1:19 sort of sounded like another song was just blended in there. Both pieces are really well done, I just didn't feel the gel there from 1:19 into 1:50. Each one of those parts could be their own song to me. A bit of a rough segue each time, but still great pieces like I said. I'd like to hear this in stereo and am a bit surprised no one else picked up on that. :) Nice job....Merry Christmas. -Danny

Danny, There are actually several pieces to this and it is for an up coming video for my cousins skiing trip. I didn't pay to much attention to the blending together at this point, until I get some footage and see where I need to go with the music to fit the video, but once I get it all done I'm hoping everything will fit together nicely. Hello fellow believer, first off. The song is interesting. At the 29 sec. mark, do you switch to a whole different song? Are you debuting the WHOLE CD with sound clips? Oh - I see (read the disclaimer) it's for a video. Got it. Great grooves going on. The trouble is the sense of 'mono' I'm getting here. THere's no spread. Do you have access to some widening tools like PSP Stereo or Bx Shred Spread or Waves S1? This would REALLY bring out the mix. Is Soundclick suppressing some of that spread/tonal ambience? The only other critique is some 'frequency dips' to de-mush parts of the mix. Do you have access to my world-famous document on Box Net? It may help you in your mixes to some degree. Here it is here - free and ready to use. Enjoy! app.box.com/shared/npn8une6lf Anyhow, you had fun making this, I gather. Well done. MERRY CHRISTMAS btw! :-) FR

FR, Thanks for listening and for your comments, they are much appreciated. I'm not sure what you are talking about mono sounding as the spread on my computer is as wide as it gets. I just listened to it again myself and it is in full stereo at my end. Try and listen to it by going to my music page and click on the song there. Don't know what's up with that mono thing. I had some problems with the stereo on this as pointed out by a couple of people, and it is now fixed. Hope this sounds better. There is a drum pop at 2:24, I will go and fix that and reload the song after it is fixed. You can turn the volume down between 75 and 80 and it's not as bad. I'll try to fix this today. Merry Christmas to all. Peace and Blessings, John

I'm hearing stereo spread John, so it seems like you have that sorted. It's a nice piece as far as it goes (although the transitions are a bit odd), but I would REALLY love to hear you compose, play and record a piece without these stock loops. I mean, they sound great, yes (they're supposed to) but I know you have more to offer than splicing loops together and popping cymbal crashes here and there. Don't mean to sound harsh, I'd just like to hear what's in your head, rather than something someone else recorded.

James, There are 66 songs on my SoundClick site (some are my originals with me playing my guitar), not just what I have posted in hear lately. You can listen to those for now, partly on page 2 and 3. Everything I have been doing with loops and samples is on page 1 and part of 2. I am working on new material for next year, and play my guitars nearly everyday. I have also spent so much money on loops and samples, I just wanted to spend a year getting my money back. Also, I just purchased X3 Studio and am trying to learn that and things take some time. I have some good stuff I have been playing, but a bit rusty on the leads, but it is all coming together. Finally, I just got my Digitech GNX4 loaded with new presets for my guitar, that I have spent the last year working out, so next year should have some new things coming your way. You know how it is, these things take time. Thanks for listening and stay tuned. Merry Christmas!! Peace and Blessings, John

i understand the need to get the benefit of your investment John You're always very supportive of my music, and I'd like to return the compliment, but I find music created from stock loops a barrier to that. That's where I'm coming from. I look forward to hearing your new stuff next year.
