Ditto on Jim's advice,

One computer was upgraded thru the download process. It took 3 times of trying to get the thing to install, clogging at 99% for hours. Finally I just left the thing on for a couple days and somewhere in the night it did finish, but something wrong with this approach.

Second computer, downloaded the install medium and things went relatively smooth. Took a couple more days to tweak everything, but once stable, win 10 has been a good experience.

Welp...It only took 5 days and mucho patience but, with all the help (especially my ol pal Jim's) from you guys and gals I'm finally up and running with Windows 10.  Looks like I've got a bit a tweaking to do and still don't know what will or won't work anymore but there's no going back now.  Thanks to all.
