...perhaps it's a good time to learn about drum maps Nick

I already learned about drum maps. That's why I use 'em, create 'em, and live on 'em with the step sequencer. Thanks for the advice, though.

I downloaded the file and it comes up as a .rar file. Don't know what that is or how to open it.

WinRAR: http://rarlab.com/

Although, I believe that in Windows, you can just right-click and use "Extract Here" without having WinRAR installed (?).

Sorry, not in to installing any more unknown software on my machine. If someone wants to make it available as a zip file, I'll check it out.

Interesting info about 7-zip. I downloaded and installed it a while ago to unpack a .rar file and it worked great, had a simple basic install, etc. Also noticed it has its own compression format with the extension .7z or something. When installing Rapture I noticed it working with a lot of .7z files and after looking at the Task Manager a 7-zip exe was being run a lot. So it seems that Cakewalk is helping support the company by using it to store data on their install disks.

I would recommend 7-zip for unpacking .rar files. Seems to me though that .rar is the ogg-vorbis of data compression. It may be better, but .zip (and mp3) is so ubiquitous that using something else just pisses people off...

You can use me as your eSoundz referral (altima_boy_2001).

I just use

http://www.filehippo.com/download_tugzip/

covers all bases..thing is altima, with the audio being compressed already there's no saving, bit like other things I use rx2 samples etc. just handy for grouping files in one lot and turning off the compression

the only thing about the "7z" format... i notice a few viruses were doing the rounds ages ago with that extension.

Nick the file is fine, my scanner didn't flag it and it's updated daily.. I don't get you sometimes, there's always some complication about x-y and z . If it was as a zip file, you'd say "oh I'm not downloading" because of blah blah

Yeah, me too, I got off the train too late. Must have been one of those hung up behind a work train at 1 am kinda rides. Can still smell those things and hear the clangs. Don't forget that stuff.

I'm not in NYC anymore, but boy rode a lotta trains and buses.

FWIW, 7-Zip is my favorite zip tool these days.
It handles long/convoluted pathnames perfectly - that I've seen Winzip/PKZip choke on.
(has other advantages too, but that one has saved my butt a few times).

My 2 bits,
Jim

Hmm... when I go the link, it says "The file you are trying to access is no longer available publicly." I've tried a few times over the last hour or so, both Firefox and IE, and get the same thing.

Hmmm, I got all excited after reading all the above posts so I clicked
on the link and was told... The file you are trying to access is no longer available publicly.
Where'd it go? is it just me?
Anyone?
