Fireberd There is a way to link up the iPad to a PC without using wi-fi. Its mentioned on either the AC-7 or V-control websites. Involves a cable etc. An ad-hoc "network". V-control is giving me headaches though, i need to sit down with it and talk nicely to it ..... Cheers, Jerry

HI Ben, Yes I'm sure. I know how to set it up. Its the Bonjour part that ain't talking to the PC. THAT is the problem. (Seem y PM to you). No, you dont need wifi to set up an ad hoc network. IIRC you can use (I think without searching on the web for it) a cableor some sort of iPad add-on for photos, whatever. Cheers, Jerry

I will accept a separate internal LAN network, not connected to the Internet would work. I don't think there is a wired network adapter for the iPad. Even if it were available it would negate the advantage of having a wireless controller. That is the big plus with my Tranzport -wireless.

joakes I agree, it does negate the advantage but it is possible. Above all see : http://saitarasoftware.com/Site/Forum.html. Check out the fred "Using AC-7 Wired". I gather its a pita to set up ! Chers, Jerry If Pita means easy Jerry AC7 was a little ****y. Ok we have a bonjour problem, I will do my research, I am flying so much to do. I will gather information from you if I need it. the first thing I will ask do you have I-Tunes installed. I know it's the devil but this is where I think Bonjour gets installed. Keep talking and we will work this through just give me time, I have so much on, not bad for someone who is unemployed. Speak Soon and keep cool, we will figure this out. Love ya Neb

I do not have iTunes on my production PC, but I am running Bonjour on it. I think I was asked to load and run that somewhere during the installation of AC-7 Core. The same Bonjour is needed to run another app that controls DAWs, V-Control.
Software: Cakewalk by Bandlab; Adobe Audition; Band-in-A-Box audiophile; Izotope Ozone; Encore; Melodyne; Win 10 Pro, 64-bit. Hardware: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd; Roland Integra-7; TCE Finalizer; Presonus Central Station, Behringer X-Touch. Home built i7 with 16 GB RAM, SSDs.

Ben, thanks again. Yes I have iTunes installed. Yes Bonjour starts up correctly. Yes AC-7 works correctly, ergo Bonjour works correctly. Yes I have tried stopping W7 firewall. Yes I have made exception rules within my wi fi router set up to ensure that the necessary ports are open. On the one hand AC-7 works, on the other V-Control doesn't. So why not Ney-fi ? It shows up in the systray. I have no idea why ney-fi doesn't work ! And I don't like something like this getting the better of me ;-((( Cheers, Jerry

Why the **** is theis not working?? I can't see in your specs why, did you do as I ask and make sure you changed the V-Control to Sonar mode, I don't remember if you said yes to this. Ok and here is a big no no, do you have another DAW, that we can test, then we can eliminate if it's a Sonar problem or something else. Also have you updated your IPad to the new operating system and you are using an Ipad 2?? Lets keep pluging on, I don't know how mjuch more I can do to night almost dead on my feet. Neb

Hi Ben, Totally up to date with everything. Drivers, software, you name it. And yes, i did select Sonar on the iPad ! Trying another DAW : i don't think its worth it, there is no connection between ney-fi and the iPad. There should be two entries in the PC part of the V-Control options : None (yes that is there) and, in my case, JerrysPC (absent). Looking forward to getting to grips with this when i get back home. Cheers, Jerry
