This is the method I used:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyYUpkpL0gw

I built six 2" panels and three 4" panels.  They are all 2' x 4'.

The 2" panels are mounted at reflection points, side walls and behind the mixing position.
The 4" panels are mounted diagonally in the corners

They really made a big difference providing more clarity at the mix position and tamed reflections in the room when tracking.

I used OC 703.

I had some OC 03 left over so I later built a couple more using acoustic ceiling tiles as a backboard surface and keep these free to use as gobos, etc.

Probably cost me around $200 for everything.  It was money well-spent.

I just realized you're also in CT.  I have some OC 703 panels left over which I would be happy to get rid of at a reasonable price.  Let me know...

Hey Dave, thanks.  I am all set for the moment, I actually packed up some of my stuff because I have been trying to sell my house and the sound blankets didn't look good for showings apparently.  (hmmff)

When I eventually sell my house and buy a biggger one I will have to evaluate what I need at that point.  For now the small treatments I have will have to do.

Thanks for the youtube link

Yeah...those are the same plans I used.
Trick is to get the rigid fiberglass local and avoid shipping costs.
If you can do that the price per trap is quite low.
I built four 4"x24"x48" corner traps and one 2"x48"x48" overhead cloud for $150.
Tremendous difference.

LpMike75 I take that room any day. And my computer was at my feet to the right about a foot and about 8 inches up off of the floor when I was trying to sing that song. (I was standing up, so about 5-1/2 feet up (mic height) or about 6 feet I am tall.

I bookmarked the reflection filter, guess I never seen that before, so I will look at it later.
I know there was something similiar to that at a GC store but it was not metal but a dampener kind of hard foam thingy.
