you might not be a spammer, but just because you don't have a link for spam doesn't mean you're not a spammer because you CAN'T put a link up until you've hit 25 posts.  it's part of the forum software to thwart spammers.

do you own a copy of Sonar or Music Creator or other Cakewalk product?  If so, which one?  tell us about yourself other than your opinion on making furniture.

Thanks, But i haven't any of these product. & For making furniture its all depends on what quality or design you want. For making furniture of own choice is not easy. It will consume lot of time if you're not expert in it.

Ok, so you're only here to answer a 4 year old thread with an opinion about building furniture?

but you're not a spammer?

interesting.

thanks for your opinion.  if Janet hasn't dealt with her desk problem in the last four years, I'm sure she appreciates the feedback.

But that's the whole point. I've spent the last 14 years making a nest of tables using only a lump hammer, some stolen MDF and a nail file. It's the journey, not the destination.

Well..*blush*..that's kind of you to say so Trevor. The nest of tables didn't turn out so well, but hey..what's 14 years, right? You know that. I've moved on to a Welsh Dresser now. Forgot the woodwork entirely.

Well hi everyone!  :)  I had to stop and think of my user name and password.  It's been awhile.  I guess I never did say that I did indeed build a tall desk and got a tall bar stool.  I either sit at it or stand at it.  It's still not perfect, but it's better than hunching over the kitchen counter.  I just put my laptop on it though.  My DAW is languishing all by itself up in my office.  Maybe some day.  Anyway, carry on!  :)

The Lifehacker blog has featured some good desk setups over the years, including standing desks. If you just search for "Lifehacker standing desks" there'll be a few things come up. They linked to this adjustable one that was on the Ikea Hackers site (which is under threat from Ikea's lawyers so I understand ) - http://www.ikeahackers.ne...ide-standing-desk.html

I remember when I first saw those advertised:  $6000!  My husband found a treadmill recently for $10 and made his own.  It's not adjustable, but he can move his laptop when he wants to sit down.  :)

Hey....Janet's back! It's been a while, nice to hear from you again. I'm not sure that I could multitask enough to have a tread mill/ desk combo.

Hi Mike!  I do miss you all. Can't imagine how I ever had time to get on here and do music before though.  Maybe sometime...

Anyway, yeah, he said it took a little while to get used to it.  When I tried it for a minute I thought I'd fall down. :)  But he said it didn't take too long to get used to it.  You just get it real slow though so you're barely moving...not really exercising.  Supposed to be way better than just standing (or sitting) there.

My DAW is languishing all by itself up in my office.  Maybe some day.

It saddens me to read that, young lady.
You put an incredible effort into mastering this crazy craft, and those words have a Grand Canyon echo to them.
Hopefully the time will find you. Your works made it very clear that you love the music.
In the meantime, watching trevor find his identity is somewhat entertaining.

No kidding about that incredible effort, Bob!  I was rather tickled the other day when I went to record something short and I remembered most of the shortcuts!  (just goes to show ya how many hours I spent up there!...AND why I don't want to switch to X1 since they switched everything around.)  Anyway, we'll see.  I'm still playing and writing (a little), and playing the drums these days too.  I must admit that's rather fun. :)  I hope you're doing well!

Drums are fun, aren't they?
We're doing ok.
I just got a new guitar, and after chiding me for that, Donna presented me with a proposition. If she got a new Ipad, I could have her 64 bit desktop(my desktop died a few months ago). It was a no brainer win-win.
So now I have a new guitar, I'm running X3 on a relatively new desktop, and she has something more appropriate for her needs.
She has also become a photographer for Lifetouch(school photography). It's something she has wanted to do for ever, and she really likes it.
I'm still working long hours, but find an hour or two here and there in the studio.
Glad to see you are playing and writing some. Don't let it fall by the wayside. You're too good.
