Ain't Never Goin' Back

A new tune I've been working on for a while...

please excuse the double negative in the title...
I have a license for that...
I appreciate any and all feedback...

New mix... 9-27-12
shortened song by cutting 8 bars from the 1st chorus...
added automation swells to the B-3
overhauled transition into double-time part
rerecorded some new guitar licks
re-sang part of 1st verse
fixed horn parts
totally re-mixed...

Ain't never Goin' Back

dude this is very cool. ya know, your blues style is very reminiscent of Freddy King...i worshipped that dude growing up... he was one of the first to put 'rock' into the blues imo.

    great tune.

I would consider swelling that hammond which would give it some more depth. I can hear you riding the leslie and using your brake. If it needs work, it doesn't need much. It sounds like you're panning it around too? Which is pretty cool, it it could just be that you have multiple outputs for different parts of the keyboard.

    This was pretty good.

I'm a Freddy King fan, too, and I had the pleasure of seeing him live at Memorial Hall in KC,KS. in the early 70's.  Your voice and guitar would have been at home on that stage.  I feel no need to offer suggestions because I know you'll have already thought of them.  I'm looking forward to hear this progress.

Thank you Lynn... Yeah Freddie was the bomb... I'd bet I've played Hidaway & ToreDown at least at least a thousand times over the years... I may re-do the horns and some of the Vox... we'll see...

Thanks Vicente... I just uploaded a new mix... I think the horns sound a lot better now... and I added a hi-pass filter on the organ & rhythm guitar... also cleaned up some guitar licks  that were stepping on each other...

    tasty as usual.

Lovely sounds on this and your production is always topnotch.

Grammer doesnt have to count when your discussing art frank, title is fine!

    Horn swells are good.

The only crit is what robby suggested, that at the start I found the backing organ to not swell enough, the drone was too strong and midi'sh.

    Great change up at end.
