Akai Advance transport controls in Sonar X3

Just picked up the new Akai Advance keyboard, and wondering how to get the transport controls working.  There's no preset on the Akai for Cakewalk or Sonar, and I've never used ACT before, so I'm not really sure where to start.

Can someone direct me to a step-by-step instruction?

Thanks!

Neel

I use Azslow3's AZ Controller plug-in, which is also mentioned in the sticky on SONAR utilities in the Software forum. I find it more reliable and robust than ACT, but it can be daunting if you just try to "make it work." However, if you follow the tutorials on Alexey's site, you'll learn how to set things up in fairly short order.

I have an Advance 49 and like it a lot. If I come up with a preset for AZ Controller, I'll share it.

Thanks Craig!  I'll check out the plugin.  I did try out the built in ACT panel, but I wasn't even sure which MIDI driver to select for the controller setup - the Akai created two MIDI ports.  I tried them both, but suffice to say, nothing seemed to do anything.

My previous controller had enough space on top so I could put my Frontier Tranzport on it, and it works awesome.  Alas, the Advance 61 has no room for it.

VIP is pretty cool, though, once I got it to load every expansion pack in Komplete 10.  It didn't find the patches for Dimension and Rapture, though.
