You guys do realize that if CW were to switch to another forum package, all your post counts would be reset to zero, right?

I don't know how that would work, bitflipper, because our post count and date of forum membership carried over from the forum software we had before we got this new forum software. iirc, that is the deal. We only had this new forum software for about a year or so. Do you think you got those 12000+ post since we had this new forum software? Think about it?

I know I didn't make my 2000+ posts in just the short time we've been using this new forum software, although some members have raised their posts counts into the thousands in a relatively short period of time.

Of course, if I posted a thousand times a day like Bapu I might be more critical.    :)
Don't knock it until you've tried it.

  what?

Using the strike thru button in the Chrome browser does not work. I must manually insert the "[]" code to get a strike thru to show up in my post.

What I wanna know is, why is this thread in the CH? Shouldn't it be in 'Software'?

It's an outrage!

[indignant] I notice the "Firefox 6 doesn't work with the forum software" thread didn't get thrown down the chute [/indignant]

What's the bloody difference?

They can't do anything about Firefox, but they can about the forum software.

I was trying to quote Bitflipper on the post he put up.... Loosing post count..... aye carramba...! We'll have to discuss this with Beagle and Bapu first to get their input .... not that it matters... my biggest gripe is not being able to use paragraph indents and double spacing of the lines which make it so much easier to read.... whatifthereturndidnotworkonthekeyboardadnwehadtoreaditallcrammeduptogetherlikethis?

the other issue is the fact this ASP software won't work on smartphones without a physical keyboard... and search function is rubbish.

Has anyone else noticed that it's quite warm here in Siberia?  I was just sitting here sharing a mug of coffee with a caribou and we saw this thread splatter all over the place.  We looked at each other for a moment, and then he said, "I'm not cleaning that up.  It's got that ASPPlayground software all over it!"

He wandered back to the herd and I watched while those unaccustomed to the region fled for the dark recesses of their otherwise miserable existence.  Oh well.  It's time to send in the HAZMAT team to scrub it down.  That's life on the tundra.

Allow me to give a short term response to all of your concerns. And one, I might add, appropriate to this side of the forum.

"We use those browsers all day long and are unable to reproduce the problems being mentioned. It must be system related. We're not saying there isn't problems, we just can't reliably reproduce them on our equipment"

I've only been hanging around here for a while, but I'm confident you won't find a better answer anywhere. No ball washers need reply, and you know who you are.

Regards, John

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.... iPad. Forum. No worky. I CAN use the "Atomic Web" app to post here, but since I hate Atomic Web, I'm usually on Safari for iPad. Why should I have to run a seperate browser just to be part of this community? If I see a thread I want to reply to, I must first close Safari, open Atomic Web, find the forum bookmark, find the topic, find the message. Too much. What that translates to is that I'm not here as much as I'd like to be, and dammit, I miss you guys. But honestly, that extra action is really annoying and is enough to make me think twice about posting... Even if I DO go through the hoops to use Atomic Web (like right now), I can't do any hard paragraphs which makes everything extremely hard to read. Forget about quoting. It's impossible. AND the forum loads very slowly on Atomic Web, not to mention that once I finally get in a thread, it jumps around three or four times before it settles down and I can scroll. A huge pain. Seriously, guys. join the rest of us in the 21st century, ok? This is the ONLY forum I belong to that has these problems.

Firefox 6: the text editor won't do anything but let you type in a long line. Formatting not possible. (I know some of you have been graced with strikethroughs ).
Chrome: doesn't handle frames very well, and sometimes viewing the forums can be... well... it's like having bifocals without having bifocals.
Just thought I'd chime in.

I filed a bug report with firefox and seems only this forum has a problem. I rolled back to 3.6 and the text editor returned to hard returns. Might be something to the statement about OS being used.. Are the people having the most trouble using XP? I'm on XP. Hard return 1 Hard return 2 see no workie...
