Angel Rising

Here is a new track I recently finished. The theme is: an angel, long away, returns and sees how things are on good old Earth. Not happy with what she finds, first there is sadness, then anger. After making things right, she leaves once again to return one day...

Hope you enjoy the listen! Any comments or suggestions are always appreciated.

Very nice track to listen to on a rainy morning. I liked that forlorn string that came in around 1:55 especially.  Only nit I have are some scraping (?) sounds, eg ~1:00 that kinda took me out of the mood.
You  have a real talent for arrangement  as well as for song writing.

Hey Dan! Awesome job as always! Your mixes always sound pro. Every instrument is occupying its own space. I like when it kicks in around 2:30, and the guitar sounds great when it comes in too. Everything sounds top notch! Nice job man!

    Dan,

Fantastic track.   Love all the sound effects and little percussion fills throughout.   This must have taken some time to pull together.  Everything sounds really good including the mix.    The only thing that really threw me was the length of the drum fill at 2:30.   I was expecting, based on the build, to hear a "In the Air Tonight" sort of fill there.   The fill itself is fine but personally I would increase the fill to a full measure.

It took a lot longer than I would have liked because I was learning Studio One at the same time. In the end, I think the track sounds about the same as it would have using Sonar.

There was a version with a longer fill, but I didn't like the feel of it and preferred the half measure version instead. It "felt" like it flowed better to me. I do appreciate your comments though!

Perfect composition! It might just be my ears or monitors, but it seems a bit more overall warmth on the bass end might give it more depth. Add some kind of sliding bass down there and cut it out in softer sections.

Still nice just the way it is too. :)
