Odd. In another universe, Bapu just cackled and tried to cook two kids named Hans and Gret'l for trying to eat his candy house. Nevermind, that one's gone now.

To the original Bubba that originated this thread in his original universe try reading Robert A Heinlein The Number of the Beast. This speculates that there are in deed exactly 6 to the 6 to the 6 universes. Some of which are yet to be occupied. PS Watch out for men in Black Hats.

I forgot about that book. Sometimes I think there are no new ideas. Then, I wonder who else has had that same idea. It usually doesn't hit me until after lunch that my mind has become the cosmic recycling bin for other people's thoughts. At that point, I normally need a nap to sort that out. Or so someone has made me think?

After thoughtful consideration, I've determined that this whole thread is occurring in an alternate universe. Now, you may rightfully ask yourselves: "Well how do Phil know dat," and I would say unto you, 'Look at the evidence.' To wit- the thread has proceeded to a second page without being hijacked, which could never happen in the CH in our own universe <Aside to Bubba- I suspect the hand of Walternate in this>. MM100 made a valiant stab at hijacking with a pronouncement on the suckiness of the froum software, but the thread quickly got back on point. No way that happens in our won universe's CH. I leave you with the question as to how do we return to our own CH and not this alternate one? Please discuss amongst yourselves, as I'm headed off to bed, knowing that when I arise our fine assemblage of great minds will have this whole thing figured out, the thread will have been successfully hijacked and life in the CH will have returned to normal(?)

craigb The OP neglects one interesting point... Time isn't linear. The OP makes a point of neglecting many points, some of which may happen to be interesting. In fact, most of his thoughts neglect so many points, they could be viewed as pointless, but I don't know what would be the point of that.

Funny, that's what I was just saying to Bapu when the time warp got me, so, apparently, you chose telepathy on that other thread. BTW- I've always had a hunch that Snap, Krackle & Pop weren't real people. Perhaps they're cereal killers.

What do you mean they're not real people? I've seen them in their commercials. Are you implying that the media would use fictional characters in an attempt to associate their product with loveable, comic, and/or seemingly innocuous images, thus ensuring not only that their product is implanted within our memories, but also to provide us with the necessary mnemonic trigger with which to recall these memories and, therefore, influence our purchasing decisions? That's diabolical, sir! I shall switch at once to Frosted Flakes. My friend, Tony, told me that they're great!

In an alternate universe in which Eddie Murphy commented on how some of his relatives were named after their favorite breakfast cereals: Trix was a prostitute, Special K was handicapped, Fruit Loops was a gay cousin etc....but, I'm not even sure if that universe exists....Bubba where's that box of Hoho's??

You know, I've had many additional thoughts on alternate universes, but I've decided not to post them in this particular universe. Your alternates can read them in the appropriate universes. Or not - if this is one of those universes in which I lie about such things. But I recommend only believing the version of me that doesn't lie about such things.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
